NEWARK, N.J. (Aug. 6) - In a city where gun violence has become an all too common part of daily life, these shootings were enough to chill even the most hardened residents: Four young friends shot execution-style in a schoolyard just days before they were to head to college
Three were killed after being forced to kneel against a wall and then shot in the head at close range Saturday night, police said. A girl was found slumped near some bleachers 30 feet away, a gunshot wound to the head but still alive.
The four Newark residents were to attend Delaware State University this fall. No arrests had been made by Monday and authorities had not identified suspects.
The shootings ratcheted up anger in New Jersey's largest city, where the murder rate has risen 50 percent since 1998. The high number of killings have prompted billboards in the downtown area that scream, "HELP WANTED: Stop the Killings in Newark Now!"

More likely bloods.
Does this suggest a cure?
yeah, billboards will stop ‘em
A testament to NJs tighter gun laws ;0
I wouldn’t doubt it; their presence has tremendously increased in the Long Island/NY city area...likely spreading out to NJ, not far away.
3 Dead in Execution-Style Killings in Newark (NJ)
where are the 100,000 police officers?
From what I heard there kids killed were good kids with no police record. They apparently text messaged each other saying we better get out of here before they kill us.
Doubt it. I’d bet one or two of those killed was a material witness to some other gang activity. This is what the gangs are doing to quiet the crowd.
you mean the ones clintin promised? I do have thar right don’t I? Didn’t clintin/gore promise that????
Authorities believe the shootings were a random robbery committed by several assailants and that some of the victims may have tried to resist their attackers. They were piecing together details of the attack from interviews with Natasha Aeriel.
Now, does anybody remember a hundred thousand new cops? This was her(clinton) husband's program, which was a sham from the get-go. The way the hundred thousand new cops or whatever the number was worked, was the federal government would pay for these communities to hire new police officers, and then after each year, the federal government's share of what they paid -- the salaries of these new hires -- would decline, would decrease. Finally, after a few years (and we've reached the years), the states or the local communities have to pick up the salaries of the hundred thousand cops that were hired, and it never ended up being a hundred thousand cops in the first place. So now the program is supposed to be expired. It has run its course. "That program was created under President Clinton to put more officers on the street. The original program expired seven years ago, but Congress has kept funding it."
My ex brother-in-law is a cop in Newark...carries three guns.
BAN GUNS! While laws against murder and the like are ignored by the sub-human scum who would do such a thing, SURELY they’d obey a GUN BAN!
"In a city where gun violence"
Yup, it's those EVIL GUNS that did this. Took themselves right out onto the street and shot those people all by themselves...
More dangerous than Iraq it would appear. But, no holding breath, while we wonder if Demrats will protest the ‘innocent lives lost’. . .
Just out of curiosity, what is Corzine doing about crime in NJ?
Prayers for the families of the victims.
The official line is that the crime decline in the 90s was due to Clinton’s 100,000 cops, and that any violence now is a function of W cutting that part of the budget. I got the memo.
Raising taxes to drive out potential victims....
There’s nothing humorous about this.
***”That program was created under President Clinton to put more officers on the street. ***
Not so! This program was created to get congressional votes for the “assault rifle” ban. Flash some money in front of congress’ eyes for crime control and then you have them!
The same thing was used in 1968 to get the 1968 Gun Control act passed. Throw some money at the states for “crime control” and you have them!
Looks like one of the local gangs has 3 new members - and one candidate for membership that didn’t qualify.
I'm sorry, but a needle prick in the arm is cruel and unusual punishment. You should be ashamed, picking on misunderstood, underprivileged youts. I thumb my nose at you! (Ouch, accidental finger in eye.)
Several months later, we actually got a rather terse letter, basically chewing us out for not taking their money. Wish I woulda kept that letter, it was rather amusing. Kinda like those selective service notes--if you don't sign up, you won't get student aid, blah blah blah.
My oldest was born in a Newark hospital (we lived in neighboring Bloomfield) and I am so, so happy to be out of NJ for a host of reasons not limited to violence, taxes, liberalism and bad driving. Took a wrong turn in Camden once - good gravy, we were unnerved.
‘The black illegitimacy rate in NJ is at about 73%. Most of the kids don’t know where or even who their fathers are.” ........ Without these people, what would Maury Povich do for a living?
Not to mention,a lot of these kids are unemployable, you couldn’t hire them to scrape gum off a sidewalk.
The only people who can clean up the sordid, hideous mess in America’s inner cities today are those who now make up the majority of the populations within them. They could if they would, but they simply won’t. And that’s all there is to it.
Our cities were once the pride of our nation — until those who now live in them took them over. If the majority indigenous populations don’t decide on their own to clean up the mess their own people have made, there is little that the rest of us can do to help. And one day very soon, most of America’s inner cities will be uninhabitable and unnavigatable by good, decent people.
Yet even then, I would wager, many if not most of those who live there will take great pride in being from “da hood.” It’s all very sad when you see some of the few who try to escape caught up in the cultural nightmare so many of their own brothers and sisters have deliberately created, and others have condoned or even encouraged.
there was an article in economist about the handling of gangs in la
where the police gives out maps to people buying houses so they know which turf they belong in cribs, bloods etc
also they say there is nothing wrong with having a healthy gang population as long as its not to violent
thats how that will is played
I do not condone the killing of anyone. But I believe they knew what they were doing and were killed because they went to an area of Newark to buy drugs.
Yeah what is the deal with Maury’s show is all about paternity tests? He is such a scum bag much lower than Jerry Springer.
So true. The gang is the only family they know, because they're the only folks who spend any time with them.
What does Marcellus Wallace look like?
See link at post 10
Oops, I thought you were looking for a picture of one of the kids. Never mind.
Maybe if you read the article and watched the video, you would have a different opinion.
This can’t be. I thought guns were illegal in New Jersey.
I remember that song by a Canadian rock group, The Guess Who named "American Woman" where they sang "American Woman stay away from me, I don't need you war machine, I don't need your GHETTO SCENE.
Now Canada has their own ghettos. They were interviewing alot of moslems. Canada foolishly imported the same problems that they mocked the USA for.
