This was coming. How brave these Hollywierd types are! They pretend to be heroes in the land of make-believe. Yet they wouldn’t lift a finger for their country or for anyone else but deride those who selflessly risk their lives for others they don’t even know.

No comparison.

Question to all, does anyone know where I can find info on which actors (contemporary or past) have served in the military? I would bet my right one that no one from the cream of the crop has served in recent memory. Any inlut would be appreciated.

Watch for this project to be quietly spiked when the DNC decides that they’d rather drop “cut-and-run” than keep it and get smoked in the ‘08 elections.

Follywood in it for the cash..........again. This is a free country and I guess Hollywood can make any movie they want. We don’t have to pay to see it. The message from Hollywood....bash US, bash Military, glorify cowards and traitors is an old and tired one.

Lee Marvin served with distinction as a Marine. I think he’s buried at Arlington.

Streep is one of the worst libs out there.

She is all for turning a huge swath of Maine over to the Federal Gov't and chasing private homeowners out. She has been pretty active at pushing it but so far her issue hasn't gone too far.

Plus she acts in icky movies.

That's true. But of the three (Cruise, Redford, Streep), she's the one with acting ability.

You have to go back to World War II to find a time when “Hollywood” supported the war effort.

They’re wimps. It took Billy Zane and Gary Busey to appear in a foreign made film that slammed the US military and Jews (Billy played a Jewish doctor who stole organs from prisoners at Abu Ghraib to sell to wealthy American and Israeli customers).

If you are going to make propaganda for the enemy, go whole hog.

All commies hate fascists. That's why Hollywood supported WWII and why Hollywood still makes good WWII flicks.

However, commies/Hollyweirdos hate capitalists too. That's why so few movies against Communism and for wars like the current one.

Jane Fonda supported the war effort. She wanted to see the Communist North Vietnamese Army triumphant.

Innumerable actors in the past. Among current actors, two that come to mind are Dennis Franz and of course R. Lee Ermey. I don’t know where you’d find a list, though I’ll bet it’s out there.

The movie did not portray terrorists in a good light.

Never been much of a Redford fan since he announced he was bleeding Cuban Red.

As for Little Tommy Cruiser he lost me long ago with his incredible ego.

Streep dosen’t play many of the movies I care to watch.

Streep like Redford is a lot long in the false teeth crowd and possibly over the hill.

I had Redfords Sundance channel taken off my cable television.

Don’t fool yourself. Pete Seegar and Woodrow Gutherie didn’t oppose Hitler until after he betrayed Joseph Stalin.

Up until that point they protested going to war against Nazi Germany like many of the US Communists did.

It was AFTER that point that Gutherie put the “This Machine Kills Fascists” on his guitar. Didn’t seem to bother him until then.

Streep put a lot of apple farmers out of business during the Alar hysteria back in the ‘80s. She testified before Congress about how “The Chill-run are all going to DIE!!!”

Playing someone else is not necessarily a noble quality.

Never said it was. Just commented on the fact that she has talent.

I'm assuming you wouldn't apply that judgment to all actors, would you? You know, like Ronald Reagan and Fred Thompson?

I stand by my comment. Meryl Streep is a wacko lib. But she's an incredibly talented actress.

That acting isn't "necessarily" a noble quality? Sure.

People are always gaga about acting ability. I'm not.

I'm much more impressed with RR's leadership ability than his acting ability.

So someone can cry on screen. So what?

Not well known but actor Vance DeGeneres was a Marine as was Drew Carey. These are the only contemporary actors I can think of. I don’t think any current younger ( post Vietnam ) “superstar” is a vet.

Overpaid Hollywood film employees. They are not heroes. And they’ve never put their lives on the line for anything. I have respect for a few of Hollywood’s stars, but they are few and far between. Denzel Washington gets my respect; as does Steve Buscemi. Before becoming an actor Steve Buscemi was a fireman. When the twin towers were burning and and the smoke was thickest. Buscemi took out his old uniform and showed up to help. He didn’t even tell anyone who he was, he just went in with the other smoke eaters and saved people. Nobody would even have known he was there if someone with a sharp eye hadn’t spotted him in some news film later as he sat taking a short break with other first responder all dusty and filthy. I put him in the category of hero.

“These dopes don’t get America.”

They don’t get themselves either. Looks like Streep is a Judith Miller knock-off. In lefty eyes she’s the demonized one who sold the world on WMDs and war, forgetting all the Western intelligence agencies thought ther were WMDs, even Joe Wilson did, so did Clinton, and the Iraq War has context before Bush. The movie, I’ll predict, will allow the Miller figure to the anti-war position, atoning for her devious previous mind control over her readers.

I forgot to add to the list Eddie Murphy’s older brother, Charles Q. Murphy ( “Chappelle’s Show” ). He a US Navy vet. It appears he only started full time acting a couple of years ago but it appears that we will see more and more of him as he has plenty of projects just completed and more in work.

Here’s a link to one site that shows actors that served in WWII, what a difference to today’s traitors.
