The "Intifada" Comes To New York City
The American Thinker ^ | 8/7/07 | Steven M. Warshawsky

Posted on 08/07/2007 1:45:29 PM PDT by RepublicanPatriot

What are we to make of a story in the New York Post about the ties between the principal of New York City's new "Arabic-themed" public school, which opens this fall in Brooklyn for grades 6-12, and an organization called Arab Women Active in Art and Media, which is selling t-shirts emblazoned with the message "Intifada NYC"?

I am sure if the Judeo-Christian Women in Art and Media were selling T-shirts that said “Intifada Ragheads”, Nanny Bloomberg would think that a hateful satement and a call to violence. Liberals - who used to love freedom of expression and American values - now can only promote hatred of Americans, dissolution of their values and acceptance of those who would do us harm.

Page 8 of the school’s Executive Summary says this:

“In addition, ITS will sponsor teacher professional development workshops in ....Islam...”

Quite clear, really. Also, the taxpayer funded school will provide halal meals, boasts a close partnership with the American Muslim Association of Lawyers and will promote the school to “faith-based organizations” for recruitment.

I got a problem with this....

An Intifada in the US would be short lived. Real Americans are fed up with this crap and are waiting for a reason to protect themselves THEIR own way.

I have a big problem with this...and so should the Loony Libs if they have any principles at all (big if considering their hypocrisy over just about everything).

I pay a huge amount in property taxes for a local public school that my kids don't even use. This is such crap! I'm sure the ACLU will be all over it/s.

Our own PC madness will be our downfall.

Mainstream Islam can not coexist with the U.S. non-Muslim population. They are demanding foot baths in public buildings and segregated public restrooms. The “flying Imams” are using the courts to weaken U.S. airport security. They know they can’t win by force so they are using the courts, the news media, corrupt lawyers and politicians to gain more and more power.

All red-blooded American men should be peeing in those foot baths whenever they come across them in a public place. I am still waiting for the Holy Water fonts in airports. Probably not gonna happen, though.

I’d like to know more about this “Arab-themed” school, e.g., (1) Who will the teachers be?; (2) Will religion (Islam) be taught?; and (3) Who will have control of the curriculum? If the answer to #2 is “yes,” how is this allowed? Where is the ACLU?

To finish my thought, “Arab-themed” is obviously an effort to make this sound like an ethnic thing rather than a religious thing. Undoubtedly this is really going to be an “Islam-themed” school.

They could never have imagined it would be so easy. . .

It is the concessions to radical Islam; it is the Liberals taking 'their side' of the war; it is the Liberals damning our own Military; it is the Liberals continual yielding to Islamic pressures that inspires and renews this enemy.

At the pace of things 'Islamic'. . .when our Military does get home; will they know it, when they get here?

I am opposed to this school for several reasons:

We have no idea of the lesson plan. it sounds like a madrassa, with public funds.

We should be teaching kids in English, not in hundreds of different languages.

It’s discriminatory to have a school just for the Arabic community when we don’t have schools exclusively for all other communities.

And it’s a dihonor to the good name of Khalil Gibran.

Great suggestion — use the footbaths as urinals.

What will this do? Prove that they are for Muslim religious purposes. How? Because the person who pees in them will surely be charged with an anti-Muslim hate crime.

But if these footbaths have a sectarian religious purpose, how are they compatible with years and years of anti-Christian constitutional law???

Just like race discrimination is OK when it serves the interests of minorities (i.e., affirmative action), so too will the “establishment of religion” be OK when it helps Muslims.

Sometimes it’s hard not to believe we are heading for a violent confrontation between patriotic, traditional Americans and the leftists and foreigners who are trying to destroy this great country.

Truer words were never spoken. We need to look back to the not so distant history of Europe. Papers there lately have taken a “less than politically correct” stand recently in light of the arrests, crime and reality of muslim immigration.

We can only hope it is a case of not. . .'too late smart'; but we know the second most popular of registered birth names in England is 'Muhammed'. And as Mark Steyn reminds us. .. 'the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world'.

Meantime, here at home; the Lib establishment cannot put out a 'welcome mat' that is big enough. . .

Hope, if Europe can make themselves take a 'second look'; that we might find the resolve to do the same. . .

Newt is right. We really are not fighting this war in a manner that it deserves. We could win. . .and, we must win. It may take more ugly than American's can muster however. . .

And we need to get ugly with treasonous Dems; who think their 'revolutionary prescriptions for ending a war are 'patriotic'; and who never met an enemy of America; they could not defend and/or support.

No, we are not fighting the war in the manner it deserves. War is ugly. Dems are treasonous...I would like to see more sedition laws enacted. Doesn’t seem to be a Harry Truman or Winston Churchill on the horizon, but they are the ones we need.

Many quiet inroads being made by the enemy utilizing the pc atmosphere.

9/11 is a distant memory to many, but I remember how I felt that day. The next one will be worse. People can and will be ugly after the next attack. Wish they’d wake up before that happens though...signs of war are in the Western homeland...people still go about their business fat, dumb and happy.

I suppose I am too aware.

Shocking to say the least. Outrageous is the word. If I were a New York City tax payer, I would be doing everything I could to get this stopped. Next I would move out of the city so that my own taxes were not helping to fund this “public” school. A question that also begs to be answered is, do you suppose that this school allows people of all faiths to attend just like any other public school must do? Maybe concerned non-Muslims in New York City ought to send their own kids to this school. Maybe if enough non-Muslims attend (or attempt to attend), the school will be forced to close its doors. Just a thought.
