Or the ballerina’s sister. Sadly RR’s other daughter was taken too early.

If there’s room on Mt. Rushmore, than he should be there. Ronald Reagan certainly deserves it.

I like Duncan Hunter, but I know realistically that Thompson is the only acceptable candidate who can win.

Probably tens if not hundreds of millions around the planet... His actions improved the lives of many people.

There are two Reagan sons - the oldest one’s an adoptee (NOT his namesake) and wrote the article. The other one, well....

You said “best”, so I do think you realize that’s an almost impossible standard for anyone else to meet.

But FDT’s a good start.

Don’t call him Junior, he’s not a junior!

It is amazing that the adopted son (who had a HORRIBLE life before he was a Reagan) “got it” and the rest of the kids didn’t.

I had to look at the post to see if it was his real son or little Ronnie.

We all miss Ronald Reagan.

Michael is a good son.

I have heard Michael give his story and his Christian testimony (which includes his father) on a few occasions - and I am touched by it every time. It is such a shame that Ronald Reagan was not known like we know him now - back when he was still capable of seeing it for himself.

WE truly don’t know what we have until it is gone. Although Reagan was by no means a perfect man, nor a perfect president, he was a man of honor, integrity, and love. I just hope that all who had the privilege to know him personally never take that part of their life for granted.

Kind of reminds me of several years back when candidates would try to portray themselves as JFK. And the statement came back (how many of you remember this one?): I knew JFK, and sir, you are no JFK.

Well, I would like to walk up to the current slate of candidates and tell almost all of them who are trying hard to be “Reaganesque” - you are no Ronald Reagan.

I’ve always believed that Bill Clinton would not have survived impeachment if Ronald Reagan had not been incapacitated by Alzheimer’s. There is no way he would have sat silently as Bush the Elder did while his former office was disgraced like that. You know that The Gipper would have stepped up to another microphone that he paid for as he did in New Hampshire and taken control of the situation. Alas.

I read the Reagan Diaries and had to laugh at different times by the humor of the one liners RR included.

Good read for RR admirers.

The primary contribution a father makes to his son or daughter is not the one residing in his DNA. The primary contribution a father makes to his children is being a FATHER.

Mike Reagan is truly his fathers son.

My family took in the child of my step-mom’s sister at the age of 11. It was amazing seeing him become one of us, telling the same stories, adopting the same mannerisms, steeped in the same values. He is my brother as much as my brother who I share the same genetics with.

Birthplace: Los Angeles, CA

Ron Reagan is the liberal, atheist son of actor and President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan. Reagan dropped out of Yale to become a ballet dancer, a move widely reported as embarrassing to his father. His parents rarely if ever came to see him dance with the Joffrey Ballet, but Reagan remembers that when he first told his father he wanted to be a dancer, the elder Reagan’s immediate response was to telephone Gene Kelly, a family friend, to ask for his recommendations on good dance schools.

Reagan hosted Saturday Night Live midway through his father’s second term as President, and in one funny skit he parodied Tom Cruise in Risky Business by dancing in his underwear in the White House while his parents were away. His parents, watching on television, reportedly had no idea who Cruise was, and didn’t get the joke until it was explained to them.

Reagan now works as a political correspondent for MSNBC, and covers dog shows for Animal Planet. He is married to a psychologist, lives in Seattle, and dropped the “junior” from his name in the mid-1990s.
