COPUSA Program/FAQ's re: 'What is the Communist Party?'

excerpt from 'FAQ'

What is the Communist Party?

The Communist Party USA is an organization of revolutionaries working to bring about social change in a conscious, progressive direction. We understand the connection between working for democratic reforms and improvements in living standards today, and building a movement large enough and united enough to create revolutionary change and socialism in the future.

We are a legal political party, which runs candidates, publishes a weekly newspaper and a monthly magazine. We organize contingents in most major demonstrations, support workers’ struggles for decent wages and working conditions, and participate in many other ways in the political life of our country.

We base ourselves on Marxism-Leninism, on the accumulated experience of our Party since our founding in 1919. Our view of the needs of our working class as a whole, and on our vision of Socialism USA is based on those experiences.

We are rooted in our country’s revolutionary history and our many struggles for full equality and democracy. We call for "Bill of Rights" socialism, guaranteeing full individual freedoms, except the "freedom" to exploit or oppress others.

Our Party is a consistent fighter for the unity of our multiracial, multinational, male-female, young and old working class. Our unity must cross all lines of religion, region, and origin. It must encompass immigrants, both legal and undocumented, the unemployed and homeless. We fight to unite people on welfare, workers in all industries and of all income levels, workers in every region of the country. The fight to build the broadest possible unity is our main contribution to today’s struggles.

Though still very small, we are a tenacious Party with a long, proud history. Our history is steeled in struggles for peace, civil rights, union organizing, social justice, and democracy. Our over eighty years of struggle has taught us hard lessons about how to organize for change, about what works and what doesn’t, about the essential needs for unity, for collectivity, for basing ourselves in reality, for never substituting our wishes for a sober estimate of where the working class and people of our country are at.

Our strategy is to build the broadest possible anti-monopoly coalition. And work for progressive and democratic change, organize and give workers a sense of their own power, and work with millions who will learn the necessity of more fundamental change in the process of struggle.

Our work is geared to winning the working class and all oppressed people to understand the need to replace capitalism with socialism. Our work is to replace the exploitative and undemocratic economic system of capitalism with a socialist society that places people’s needs ahead of corporate greed.

We say: People and Nature Before Profits!

It is impossible to separate the goals of current and rising Democrat 'progressives' from that of COPUSA. It is impossible because both are inspired by same idiology of Marx and Lenin and in principle - so called - today's Democrats or rather. . .'Progressives' are doing the work and so facilitating the Communist Party of America.

Excerpted from COPUSA:

It is true socialism will nationalize or socialize all large-scale production, property and real estate. But socialism does not abolish ALL privately-owned business. It does not require nationalization of those small businesses owned by people who work for themselves and do not hire others to make a profit. Personal property - private homes, automobiles, etc., - will remain just that, personal property.

In highly mechanized U.S. agriculture there will still be a place for the family farmer. But the farm family will be relieved of the pressure of agribusiness monopolies.

There will be rapid abolition of racism and national oppression. Socialism will bring complete equality for all racially and nationally oppressed. There will be no compromise with racism, for there will no longer exist a capitalist class which profits from it. Racism, national oppression, anti-Semitism, sexism, anti-immigrant discrimination and all forms of prejudice and bigotry will be banned by law, with strict measures of enforcement.

Affirmative action will be expanded immediately to undo and make up for hundreds of years of the ravages of racism. Full equality will be one of the main priorities of the new society.

War propaganda will be outlawed.

Communism, as we see it, is a more advanced stage that comes after socialism. . .

If you’ve ever seen the tattoos that prisoners of Communist oppression in the USSR gave each other, you’d realize that they had a wicked sense of humor. But their tormentors did not.

FAQ/COPUSA: 'Isn't it unpatriotic to be a revolutionary?' Our government and its institutions, born out of revolutionary struggle, often hypocritically condemn any and all revolutionary activity. Those who want to maintain the existing capitalist system try to identify capitalism and democracy in the popular mind. They also try to identify revolutionaries with violence, terrorism, and undemocratic ideas.

Capitalism is very undemocratic and unpatriotic. (. . .)

Similarly, the ideas promulgated about revolutionaries are at best a distortion, at worst outright, intentional lies. Not everyone who believes these distortions is an enemy, including the ideologues of the system—many are sincere people misled by the barrage of propaganda we are all subjected to. (bottom line and why these Dens bristle/whine at being called 'unpatriotic'. . .):

Revolution is of necessity a most democratic act.

Yes, our socialist/marxist Demrats ARE patriotic. . .particularly when they want to save our soldiers. . .from themselves. . .or when these Dems are acting by all means and measure; 'against' America; for these are just 'little' revolutionary decisions they make every day.

And why not? Conyers IS the man. . .for all Michigan Muslims and Democrat 'progressives'. And the Communist Party/USA loves him. He earns many 'revolutionary kudos'.

Based on his record of membership in, and support for various communist front organizations, either of the CPUSA or the KGB (World Peace Council), Conyers is a “red”. Whether he is/was a member of the CPUSA lies in the files of the FBI. (He also has supported the Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party, SWP, and the Stalinist Workers World Party, WWP, besides the RCP, Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party. The man has been busy).

There is a possibility that his father, John Conyers Sr, was a CP member or sympathizer since he was a major figure in the AFL-CIO during the 30’s thru 50’s. A key UAW VP, Mortimer Reimer, was a Soviet COMINTERN agent, based on files found in the Soviet archives by John Haynes and Harvey Klehrs (See: “Labor Studies”, Fall, 1995).

Conyers record has been published in the old newsletters “The Pink Sheet on the Left” and its successor, “The American Sentinel”, as well as in Human Events weekly, Frontpagemagazine, and in FRer posts.

There is a great photo of him at a KGB front operation right here in Wash. D.C. as well as at one overseas.

Sen. Carl Levin, then head of the Detroit City Council, 1975, is also in a photo with the top KGB agent of influence in the World Peace Council, Romesh Chandra, then a head of the CP of India.

Just love them Democrats - “progressives” all.

CPUSA= Democratic Party USA...no difference as far as I can see, especially with them wanting to be described as “progressive” rather than the “liberal” label of old.

“communism grants full freedom....except the freedom to oppress and exploit others...”

communists regularly and with extreme prejudice oppress and exploit others; they instigate class warfare, class hatred, conflict between ethnic groups, conflict between employers and employees, steal money in the form of confiscatory taxes, continually raise taxes, make life a little more insecure every day, require people to pay taxes ad nauseum, with no letup in sight...and with all the manipulation they still consider themselves to be the saviours of mankind....and the “american electorate” continues to vote them into office. (how ironic)

Political Party Alliance

The National Stonewall Democrats

The National Stonewall Democrats is the nation’s only grassroots Democratic lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender organization. The Stonewall Democrats focus on making change in three ways; educating the LGBT community about the differences in the political parties, mobilizing the LGBT community on election day to get-out to vote for fair-minded Democrats and standing up against the Republicans when they attack our families and civil rights.

Dave Noble, Executive Director www.stonewalldemocrats.org

The Log Cabin Republicans

The mission of the Log Cabin Republicans is to work within the Republican Party to advocate equal rights for all Americans, including gays and lesbians. Log Cabin’s mission derives from our firm belief in the principles of limited government, individual liberty, individual responsibility, free markets and a strong national defense. We emphasize that these principles and the moral values on which they stand are consistent with the pursuit of equal treatment under the law for gay and lesbian Americans.

Patrick Guerriero, Executive Director www.logcabin.org

Hmmm, Stonewall? Let’s take a look:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1794584/posts?page=91#91
This obituary was prepared by Stuart Timmons, Hay’s official biographer, historian Martin Duberman, Joey Cain of the San Francisco GLBT Pride Parade, and Harry Hay’s niece, Sally Hay. IN Step’s Jamakaya also contributed to the story.]

Excerpt:

A tall and muscular young man, Hay worked as both an extra and ghostwriter in 1930s Hollywood. He developed a passion for theater, and performed on Los Angeles stages with Anthony Quinn in the 1930s, and with Will Geer, who became his lover. Geer (who later generations grew to love as Grandpa Walton on the TV series “The Waltons”), took Hay to the San Francisco General Strike of 1934, and indoctrinated him into the American Communist Party. Hay became an active trade unionist. A blend of Marxist analysis and stagecraft strongly influenced his later gay organizing.

Despite a decade of gay life, in 1938 Hay married the late Anita Platky, also a Communist Party member. The couple were stalwarts of the Los Angeles Left. Hay taught at the California Labor School and worked on domestic campaigns like that for Ed Roybal, the first Latino elected in Los Angeles. The Hayses occasionally hosted Pete Seeger when he performed in Los Angeles, and Hay recalled demonstrating with Josephine Baker in 1945 over the Jim Crow segregation policy of a local restaurant. When he felt compelled to go public with the Mattachine Society in 1951, Hay and his wife divorced.

After a burst of activity lasting three years, the growing Mattachine rejected Hay as a liability due to his Communist beliefs. In 1955, when he was called before the House Un-American Activities Committee, he had trouble finding a progressive attorney to represent him. He felt this was due to homophobia on the Left. (He was ultimately dismissed after his curt, brief testimony was deemed unimportant.) Hay felt exiled from the Left for nearly fifty years, until he received the Life Achievement Award of a Los Angeles library preserving the history and artifacts of progressive movements.

So, Harry Hay was a Communist. An admitted communist. And he started Stonewall. And the Log Cabin Republicans are admitted political allies with Stonewall and the CPUSA as per the 2004 RNC anti war protests.

From NAMBLA:

HARRY HAY
and the
SPIRIT OF STONEWALL
New York, 1994

Harry made the following statement to a press conference on June 24, 1994, in the former Stonewall Inn on Sheridan Square in New York, site of the riots that launched the modern gay movement in June 1969. The press conference was called to announce the Spirit of Stonewall (SOS) contingent in the Stonewall 25 march two days later. It was moderated by SOS co-organizer and indefatigable activist Bill Dobbs. Other participants were Christine Martin, sex educator and documentary filmmaker; Glenda Orgasm (aka Glenn Belverio), drag queen activist and filmmaker; Scott OHara, editor and publisher of Steam magazine; Val Langmuir of Feminists Against Censorship (London); Julia Smedley, member of Stonewall Now; and Charley Shively of Fag Rag and professor of American Studies at the University of Massachusetts.

This statement was transcribed from a videotape of the press conference. A much shorter versionwhich omits any mention of NAMBLA or SOS, as well as the entire last half of the statement and the first paragraphappeared in Radically Gay: Gay Liberation in the Words of Its Founder Harry Hay, ed. Will Roscoe (Boston: Beacon Press, 1996), p. 303. These omissions seem odd in view of the fact that Harry read from a written text. The truncated version also used capital letters for words such as Brothers and Sisters and Queers, a convention that is not followed here since this complete version is not based on a written text.

Sir Julian Huxley, the great English biologist, said, at the beginning of this century, no negative traitand, as you know, a negative trait is one that does not reproduce itselfno negative trait ever appears, and reappears, millennia after millennia after millennia, unless it in some way serves the survival of that species. We gays and lesbians may embody, or have discovered, some things that you folks desperately need to know about.

Im here today as a survivor, as well as the founder of the first ongoing gay organization in the United States, the Mattachine Society, first formed in 1950 in Los Angeles, and now, naturally, a member of SOS, the Spirit of Stonewall, because things we discovered about ourselves and principles we developed in 1950 to 53 are now being trashed by queers who dont know their own history, all over the place.

We decided from the beginning that, first, because we were still discovering our parameters, we wouldnt censure each other. If people like NAMBLA self-identify themselves to me as gays and lesbians, I accept them as brothers and sisters with love.

Second, when we decided to rejoin the social or political mainstream again, we would integrate as the group we saw ourselves to be, complete with our own set of values, or we would not integrate at all.

And third, we would no longer permit any heterosnationally or internationally, individually or collectivelyto tell us who we are, what persons our groups should or should not consist of. We assert our right to self-determination, we assert our right to collective self-definition. We queers will decide for ourselves who our members should be.

Members of SOS, notably NAMBLA, have been accused of child molestation. Insofar as child molestation is concerned, the most common form is the sexual coercion by which gay and lesbian children are bedeviled into hetero identities and behaviors. And this is practiced daily by the whole national and international hetero communityparents, family, teachers, preachers, doctors, lawyers, and Indian chiefs, not to overlook U.S. senators and pooh-bah media.

This outrageous coercion of gay kids into hetero identities and behaviors against their wills is not only sexually abusive, it is spiritually devastating rape, because the child unbeknowingly is being led into developing self-loathing at the same time. For this gigantic criminal trespass against not only todays children but against all of us alsoall of ussince childhood, from the queers my age of 82 down through all the generations of queers assembled here in New York, to the gay kids still being bedeviled by sexual coercion against their wills, we the international gay and lesbian people here this week should unite to sue the whole guilty heterosexual community lock, stock, and barrel to within an inch of their lives, and for every nickel theyve got, as a beginning of compensation. And while were at it, we should request our first-class citizenship as well. This could be the class-action suit of the century.

In highly mechanized U.S. agriculture there will still be a place for the family farmer.

There was such a place for the family farmers of Ukraine under Comrade Stalin!

They called it a "mass grave".

You would think this thread would have more traffic. There have always been assumptions about MoveOn in my life here at FR.

But, here is proof of the Log Cabins.

In the Progressive tradition, of course, 'words mean things'. . .. We know it can never be 'farming-for-profit';but more to the word in itself. . .the family farmer is the family who must grow potatoes in back yard to keep from starving.

And yes, many of these farmers in Stalinist history did keep the earth turned; no doubt.
