If 1-800-FLOWERS wants to expand their business, they should provide a “discreet billing” option button on the order form. The could set it up so that if the customer selects that option the credit card charge will show up as “Almalgamated Gasoline” or some such thing, and no further communication would be sent to the customer.

It would be an interesting business question to see if such an option would gain them more business in the adulterer market than it would drive away business in the family-friendly market.

Or, perhaps, a smaller company can be formed to cater exclusively to “the demanding client who demands privacy and discretion...”, which is to say Husbands who are stepping out on their Wives. All of the false names on the credit card and confidentiality provisions could be built in from the start. The orders could be placed to the local florist for delivery without providing any purchaser information to the local florist at all, because the seller could act as a firewall.

There is a real web-based business opportunity here, folks!

I sent my elderly stepmother some flowers thru an internet order. Now I get 3-4 emails a day from them. I’d like to sue them for harrassment.

(chuckle)

Better than stock tips. I was spammed by a loser from NYC a couple of years ago. He threatened me on another website one Friday afternoon, following Monday I had over 3,000 emails.

‘I Hate Spam’ software cured the problem.

"1-800-Flowers sent a thank you note to his house several months later, prompting his wife to ask who the hell got flowers."

Meaning she opened his mail.

I would never open my spouse's mail -- not even junk mail. Nor she mine. It's a matter of respect, privacy and trust. If you can't give those to your spouse, maybe you shouldn't be married.

Maybe, maybe not. A lot of that courtesy stuff is just a pre-printed postcard, not a letter in an envelope.

Adulterers suck.
I hope this makes national news with the bum’s mug all over the TV.

Well if Loverboy is getting some action on the side, I would say that respect and trust are by the boards, wouldn't you?

Years ago, when I bought a beautiful gift for my wife, the jeweler--a very fine man--sent the bill to my office. I asked him why. He explained what should have been obvious. I told my wife. She was worldly wise enough not to be surprised. This jeweler and is family wound up becoming fabulously rich!

Another time, a former co-worker from another city asked me to make reservations for him and a girlfriend at a local hotel. I did. Sometime later, the hotel sent a payment statement to him at my address. My wife--who's mighty smart--was beside me as I opened it. Without batting an eye, and without implying any approval, she said: "I wonder how much he would pay us not to send a copy of this to his wife." She had the whole thing figured out in an instant. Having a smart wife is a double-edged sword.

Message to Leroy: You just can't be too careful. (But I'd be embarrassed for anybody to know about this.)

Any married person who cheats on their spouse should give up 100% of the marital assets to the non-cheating spouse, and 50% of their paycheck for a period equal to the lengh of marriage.

And what do you base this ridiculous rule on?

It isn’t a rule, but it should be! If I were an employer and knew one of my employees was cheating, i’d find any excuse possible to terminate them ASAP, and i’d probably pay for an attorney for the spouse who got cheated on.

Cheating is about the lowest form of scumbag you can be.

I never open my own mail, spousal unit opens everything. I trust her to pay the bills on time, after all she's using my money.

Wow, so just feelings. No reasoning behind this stance whatsoever. Again why the anger? My ex cheated on me and then divorced me about 6 years ago. For awhile I suppose I felt some anger but after a bit I realized it was more important for me to forgive her than to get back at her for my own well being

I've got a better one I thought of 20 years ago -- "Receipts Я Us" for businessmen.

For a 20% fee, you are discretely mailed all the receipts you need for your out-of-pocket expense account "business trip" -- air fare, hotel, meals, cabs, etc. -- just like you actually went there.

Yeah, just feelings. There is no basis in law, but there should be. I have no intention of forgiving my ex, she’s a POS whore. I hope she die a painful death from the STD’s she’ll contract from sleeping around. She’s also a lousy mother to my kids, so i am fighting for 100% permanent full time custody. Another DUI for her, and i’ll have that one in the bag.

She decided to screw around, now I have to pay. Worse, i don’t get to see my kids every day. Next week she’s taking them on vacation, so i don’t get to see them for a full week.

Cheaters should be shot. Not to kill, but a good hip-bone shattering, or through the knee cap would suffice. Then there’d come the financial penalties.

As they say, an affair is simply a symptom of the real problem.

(Unless you're the one being cheated on -- then it IS the problem.)
