Attention Duncan Hunter Fans: Free Republic "Virtual Press Conference" to be Monday 8-13
Sam Hunter | 8/9/07 | Pissant

Posted on 08/09/2007 1:27:36 PM PDT by pissant

Finally! It is set. Congressman and Presidential Candidate Duncan Lee Hunter will join us on Free Republic on Monday, August 13, around lunchtime, Pacific Time.

He will be with his son Sam (Duncan Hunter Ambassador) in San Diego. He will log onto Free Republic as a new member. I will post the 16 questions we gave him last month AND the answers he has provided to those questions in a "live thread". Mr. Hunter will come onto FR and answer a few follow up questions and rub elbows with the "folks" for an hour or so.

Please understand that he will not be able to answer multitudes of follow up questions in the limited time he has, but he will get some answered and make a statement or two.

Please set aside time to participate if you are interested in "meeting" this stellar conservative candidate for President of the USA.

The exact time will be confirmed on monday morning (sometime between 11 AM and 1 PM) by Sam Hunter.

“around lunchtime, Pacific Time.”

Planning a fishing trip that morning, I hope to limit out in plenty of time to catch this important event.

I hope so too, but don’t ask him about a VP slot, please. He just told Medved he won’t even contemplate it now and that he thinks he will win this thing.

As I've said before, I like Duncan, but he is not in a position, at this time, to instill a lot of confidence in winning the whole thing.

Moving from the House to the White House is a HUGE step, and rarely occurs. I would hope he looks at the VP slot as time goes on and IF his position doesn't improve. It would be his stepping stone to the top spot, and give him the pulpit he needs to be nationally recognized.

And just a bit of information here for you. I donate to both Duncan and Thompson. But my preference at the top is for Fred.

I talked to Sam Hunter this AM. they are working their tails off courting the Iowegians. Gotta play catchup, since he has a very demanding day job on the Armed Services Committee.

Yeah it is when you’re catching them, Been a good week so far hoping it continues all month. I will read the Hunter thread wether I get back in time to participate or not. I don’t know if it is possible but maybe you could ask a question for me? I would like the candidate to expound on when we might see upward movement in the polls. At this stage, that equals encouragement for some of us.

I saw Hunter at the Freedom Concert here in San Diego
the other week. His knowledge on National Security, Military, Border issues, etc. exceeds all other candidates.
Not to mention his Marine Capt. son on his third tour.

Michael Medved had Hunter on his show for a full hour today. Hunter cleaned up. He did not attack his rivals, despite Medved's attempt, and emphasized his prescience: He moved on the border fence in the early 90's before it was popular. He introduced free, fair trade legislation first in 1982, before IT was popular.

Today, both issues are "hugh" and "series" -- and DH was well ahead of the curve. He might be the ONLY candidate with that kind of long-term vision.

Looking forward to Monday!

If our side wins, I hope we don’t have to do a 50 state recount. We will surely be witness to the mother of all hissy fits.

I may not be here at that time because there is a weekend long event at the sportsmans club, but can you ask him a question for me?

I think he should be talking to autoworkers in the rustbelt states to get his message out about fair-trade.

Can you ask him why he isn’t having townhall type meetings with labor groups like the UAW?

I think he would go over well with them if he would just set up some meetings to explain his ideas.

A good reception from labor would make news and get him some media exposure.
