FAIRFIELD - State Sen. Carole Migden pleaded no contest this morning to a misdemeanor reckless driving charge.
Migden, who didn't appear in the Solano County courtroom of Commissioner Barbara James, entered the plea through her attorney Ann Moorman.
Migden received a punishment of a day in jail which she will be able to do by being booked and released at the jail's receiving area.
Migden was also ordered to pay $710 in fines and was placed on two years of informal probation.
Earlier this week Migden's lawyers met with Solano County Chief Deputy District Attorney Kathy Coffer in part to negotiate a resolution to the matter which had been pending through much of the summer. Coffer appeared in court to handle the case.
In June California Highway Patrol investigators determined Migden was at fault in two separate May 18 crashes in her 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. After the incidents became public, Migden revealed she was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997 and said medication she still takes daily may have been to blame.
In the first accident, Migden struck the median on eastbound Interstate 80 near Redwood Parkway in Vallejo, the CHP said. Minutes later, her car rear-ended a 2005 Honda sedan that was slowing to a stop at a red light at the intersection of Beck Avenue and Highway 12 in Fairfield.

I’m so sorry to hear about you terrible court experience today. It must have been horrible to have to send your attorneys down to that hick Court House in horrible Solano County where they (heaven forbid) may have said bad things about you.
It’s not fair that this happened to you. Who do those “little people” think they are!? Anyway, you have my sympathy as one of your loyal tax slaves, I mean subjects. Those stinking laws-—they shouldn’t apply to the “better people” you know!
Perhaps we can start a petition to enact new laws preventing this slight to your uh hum good character. You should be exempt from the horrors of having to face a terrible demeaning situation like this! It’s just not right you know.
I can only image the trauma and horror as you had to speak to one of those little people Police Officers. I can only shudder to think as you were inconvenienced waiting for transport to your next important meeting at Lesbians of San Francisco or the National Organization of Morally Superior Women.

David Kendall will be appearing to argue for Hillary. This is a civil matter. The three-judge panel of the Californian Appellate Court will determine whether she is brought back into the case as a defendant. In any case, she will be testifying under oath. Superior Court judge Aurelio Munoz made that clear to Kendall.
At least this DemocRAT didn’t drive off a bridge and leave someone to die.

Solano County courts are a corrupt sewer. I had to argue a small claims case last month and the first thing out of the judge pro tems mouth was “I’m not going to look at the evidence”!!! It went downhill from there as he kept putting his foot in his mouth. The co-defendant was from India and the judge was of “swarthy” complexion with one of those middle eastern names. The Indian landlord and his tenant were in court to answer civil charges of operating a nuisance property / gangbanger party house. There were 30 police reports, restraining orders, neighbor’s statements, warning cards, photographs, video tapes, you name it. The 2 tenants are the son and daughter of a police officer!!!
I wonder if I can call for an ethics review or investigation into possible case fixing / bribery? Don’t ever use a judge pro tem (part time judge) who is a civil case attorney.

Migden, 58, caused a three-car accident on Highway 12 near Fairfield May 18. At first she claimed she was distracted by her cell phone, but later revealed she has battled leukemia for 10 years and said a negative reaction to the medicine she takes could have caused her to lose control of her vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol recommended the lesbian lawmaker be charged with reckless driving.

California Senator Carole Migden has revealed that she is suffering from leukemia and that medication prescribed to her may have contributed to a car accident she caused on May 18. Earlier Migden said that she was driving her state-leased SUV while reaching for her cell phone.
The announcement comes when witnesses called police to say that Migden was weaving along Highway 12 in Solano County, California. They also reported that she drove over the center median on several occasions and that after the accident she got out of her car and proceeded to yell, "I'm a senator!." Witnesses say that she "didn't seem all there at the time."
According to Migden, doctors diagnosed her with leukemia in 1997, but did not reveal to the public her disease because she did not want "pity" from anyone. Migden also says that back in February, she was pronounced as "disease free."
Migden says that she had an unexplained medical event and that her medication claim is not an excuse for her driving.
"I owe an explanation to the public and myself and, in particular, the person I hurt. I don't have a recollection of what happened. I can only conclude I had a medical event I can't explain. It's not an excuse; it may be an explanation," said Migden.

State Senator Carole Migden’s East Bay Deed
For many years I’ve heard the rumor about San Francisco State Senator Carole Migden not being a full-time resident of the city. People have said she really lives and spends most of her time in the East Bay, with her longtime companion Cristina Arguedas, a criminal defense attorney with an office in downtown Berkeley.
A California state senator who voted to ban cell phone usage while driving crashed her SUV late last week while reaching for a ringing cell phone, the Marin Independent Journal has reported.

Carol Migdon Is Truth Challenged
State Senator Carol Migdon is what’s wrong with politics in California. She believes that you and I should live by the ridiculous laws she creates, but she is above the law. Her bombastic arrogance is undeniable.
If it was one of us, they would have thrown the book at us.
