Iran has produced a movie, which will depict the true story of the Persian Empire by exposing the lies presented in Hollywood's 300 .
The Iranian movie Parseh: the Capital of the World is aimed at correcting the distorted image of the Persian nation the anti-Iranian film 300 presents.
Parseh, which is in production now will tell the true story of the Achaemenid and Greek Empires, their ancient wars, and the prominent figures of both sides," said director Pejman Fakhariyan.
Zack Snyder's 300 has severely been criticized due to its historically inaccurate version of the events. The movie falsely portray Spartans as a democracy-loving nation who are fighting 'slave' Persians.
Parse or Parseh is the area, which lies between the Arvand River and the Persian Gulf, in which the Persian Empire existed.

Yes, so ancient Persia was great, and it’s been all downhill since the advent of Islam!! The Mullahocracy ought not to be comfortable promoting the greatness of ancient Persia.....

Talk about millions of dollars worth of free publicity!! The producers of ‘300’ must have relatives in the Iranian government.

The movie is based on a graphic novel, for pete’s sake. A sovereign state feels the need to rebut a fun evening at the movies based on a graphic novel???
Besides, the Greeks won and Alexander destroyed the Persian Empire. The winners get to write the history. Them's the rules.

Well, they deny the Holocaust, cause a worldwide uproar over a few cartoons, and put out death sentence fatwas with impunity to murder writers such as Rushdie, so this is no different.

I have read A book about the battle years ago. This movie was too CGI for my taste and a little simplistic. I certainly couldn’t recommend buying it before rent/borrow it first. I wanted this to be a good movie but it fell far short of my expectations.

...interesting. Ill check it out. All,
I strongly recommend you check out the History Channel's "Last Stand of the 300". If you subtract the mutants and the monsters from the movie, "300" is actually pretty close to what the program reveals.

Many stories have been written about the Spartans. Nobody knows for sure exactly what happened......even the Iranians. So their story will be no different than any others. But......the Persians will believe anything that puts them in a good light.

What I find most interesting is how thin skinned the Iranian government is. Do they really think a film that portrays the Persian empire badly is what they have to worry about when it comes to image building? They have a President who talks about wiping Israel off the map and is doing everything in his power to provoke a conflict with the west. They might want to start repairing their international image by addressing him.

AchmanIwannaJihad should know that wanting to erase Israel from the face of the Earth would allow history to repeat. Only this time, “Alexander” will be wearing a yarmulke and tap-dancing to Haveh Negilah on Iranian/Persian corpses.

Link "This genuine CalTrans highway sign is located at the intersection of SR-178 and the Old Kern Canyon Road and faces west down the canyon. Contributor Alison Sheehey reports that the original sign was installed to warn motorists that cows could fall onto the road from the hills above. "The hillside slopes are free-range grazed and some are quite steep. After rains they get really slick as well. I know of one cow falling directly onto a car, and I have heard of it happening two other times. The more frequent occurrence is when cows slip off the hillside and fall onto the road injuring themselves, and cars run into them."
