A prominent black Christian pastor says Barack Obama (D-Illinois) made "an inept attempt to be a theology major" in Thursday night's Democratic presidential forum on homosexual issues.
During Thursday's forum, Obama was asked by one of the moderators why many black churches remain strongly opposed to homosexuality. Moderator Jonathan Capeheart of the Washington Post then referred to such opposition as "homophobia." Obama responded to the question by saying some black pastors "have elevated one line of Romans over the Sermon on the Mount."
Bishop Harry Jackson Jr., who chairs the High Impact Leadership Coalition, says Obama is an intelligent man doing a good job advocating change in America, but he's not "grounded in the fundamentals of the faith."
"He's dead wrong concerning what the Scriptures say, and more importantly, he's dead wrong in terms of the Scriptures and in terms of reading the culture," says Jackson. "The culture has gone in a different direction, and the devaluation of marriage is a major problem, and I believe that he's a very dangerous man because he sounds reasonable, he sounds engaging, but he's misinformed"
Bishop Jackson calls Obama a "junior or infant Christian speaking out as though he were an ambassador of the faith." Jackson says he does not buy the notion that the homosexual rights movement is similar to the black civil rights movement either.
"I think what most African-Americans buy is that there should be justice for all, in terms of the outworking of civil law. What they do not buy is that we should rename sin as something righteous and holy," explains Jackson.
Jackson says the average person in a black community says, "wrong is wrong, and right is right, and even if I'm not living right myself, I refuse to call that which is morally wrong right."
He says black clergymen are developing more courage to speak out on issues like homosexuality because they are not willing to be labeled as "the white man's pawn or the white man's puppet."
I wonder what lines he would elevate in the U.S. Constitution.

When Minister Louis Farrakhan was doing the million-man-march in Washington, DC Bishop Jackson (then Pastor Jackson) was the only black Christan minister, in Washington DC, who would go on TV and say Minister Farrakhan was wrong. Even Bishop Peebles, of Jericho City of Praise, would not go on TV against him, only Pastor Harry Jackson of Hope Christian Church.
The amendments that enshrine abortion and sodomy as sacred constitutional rights. They're similar to Jesus' endorsement of homosexual behavior in the sermon on the mount. "Blessed are the men who pursue unnatural affections, for they shall inherit the Democrat party."
According to Islamic law, if you’re a child and you’re more or less forced by your parents to leave Islam , you are not considered an apostate becauase you didn’t know what you were doing time nor could appreciate the consequences.

I agree with th3e pastor. Obama says he is a man of faith, but then, procedes on a daily basis to give support to things evil, anti-life, and biologically perverse.

During the debate, Obama was bragging that he has actually visted Black Churches and has reprimanded them for their “homophobia.” It’s funny, but when Obama started bragging on this point, he had all the dignity of a crack drug dealer. He seemed about as respectable. It was really creepy, maybe Hillary will pick him as her running mate, he is creepy enough for her to do it. The man is just weird, there is no other way to put it. Black America should be ashamed that he is their first representative running for President, what a disgrace. I expect any minute now to hear the breaking news that Obama is a pimp, because he is no better then one.

The biblical opposition to homosexuality rests not on a misunderstanding of the Sermon of the Mount... its rests on the recognition that an alienation of true sexual being is in fact a declaration of human alienation from God. If Obama had been a devoted Christian, he would have had the courage to boycott a conclave of sodomites and declare homosexuality to be affront to God's eternal teachings as well as to Nature.
That is too much to expect in these politically correct times when the lie and pagan worship have replaced undying fidelity to God and His Commandments. I have only to conclude Obama does not know the true essence of the Christian faith as he ought. God is not to be blasphemed!

Usually I laugh at the worn-out phrase “speaking truth to power”.
But this time I applaud Jackson for doing just that.
