“Hopefully whomever the nominee is we can all get behind him and bring the GOP back the WH.”

If the nominee is a conservative, we can!

The reason your argument will not bring on any new converts is because Rooty Toot and his minions were using it months ago to try and force people to support a liberal.

At a certain point, it does become true, but it’s still early in the primaries, so there’s room to argue some points out. Is Duncan Hunter done? Yes, stick a fork in him. This was his last chance. He’ll receive no significant money, nor will he get any serious time with the MSM or even the new media. His campaign is finished. That doesn’t mean though that everyone needs to coalesce behind whomever. There’s still a long while until that becomes necessary.

HUNTER IS T-O-A-S-T

Hunter may not be a viable candidate but that doesn’t mean he is garbage can material. After all he will hopefully endorse some candidate and those that supported him need to be treated with respect and solicited for their support. That is unless you are a democrat supporter.

Here’s what winners do:

The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials invited all Republican presidential hopefuls to its annual convention at Disney World in Buena Vista, Fla.

Only one showed up — Rep. Duncan Hunter, of California.

A grateful audience gave Hunter a standing ovation Friday and some convention goers posed for snapshots with the congressman after his question and answer session.

Standing at the lone candidate podium which was decorated in red, white and blue, Hunter was asked about his plan to fix the nation’s immigration system.

“We need to build the fence and build it quickly,” he said.
An 854-foot fence would help national security, stop crime along the border, and protect the United States from terrorists, he said.

After the forum, he told reporters the fence would also keep people from dying in the desert of heat exhaustion.
“If 200 kids a year were dying in a canal the first thing you would do is fence it,” he said.

On Saturday, seven Democratic presidential candidates were slated to attend a forum at the NALEO conference, including Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, Barack Obama of Illinois, Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, Joseph Biden of Delaware, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio.

Winners....... we’ll see. Hunter isn’t close to winning at this time in the race and based upon his performance on Sat. I have my doubts he’ll get much closer than he is now. I don’t guess he got much support out of that group on Sat. either.

You should spend your time wisely and where you can do the most good for your campaign. Well that trip may have been better spent in Iowa as he didn’t have much time to campaign there since he was so busy with other things.

Fred Thompson, Rudy, and Hunter all got 1% in the poll; McCain got less than 1%.

I think human nature, for some people, tell them that the poll of the moment is frozen it time.

It’s not.

John Kerry was 4% in the polls with 3 weeks to go. (one example)

Of the four you named only Hunter was participating in the poll. The others weren’t and he still couldn’t pull ahead of them. If Hunter was smart he’d do just like T. Thompson just announced, withdrawal......

Of course, Duncan Hunter is positive. He realizes this is not the national election. Some people are acting as if it is
I'm glad you see that.
Unfortunately, some people around here have been running scorched earth campaigns against our own front-runners.

“Of the four you named only Hunter was participating in the poll.”

But the other three were national front runners, so Iowa certainly knew their names and positions.

This shows us what spending millions on tv ads, etc. targeted at Iowa can do (as Romney did).

“I don’t really have a specific horse in this race.”

Then why in the dickens are you so dead set against Hunter? You blather on about the “bigger picture”, and seem to be too good to get down in the dirt with the rest of us who are trying to make sure we have a worthy candidate. You accuse us of wanting Hillary to win. Be assured nothing could be further from the truth! Hunter deserves a better deal than he’s been getting in the media and from people like you. I hope this ranting of yours is only here, and I pray you keep your mouth shut in public and in your everyday life.

>>After all, it’s you guys who are exposing yourselves by not one of you being willing or able to answer in the affirmative so far that you will support the eventual GOP nominee against Hillary, no matter whom it is in the end.
I’m merely asking the question.<<

I’m not participating to support a party (GOP) that abandoned my ideals. I’m participating to support a true conservative candidate. At this time, I have no reason to support a front runner with whom I share only a portion of my ideals with just because he has an (R) after his name.

Isn’t that the objective?...... If you are going to get into the competition then go for the win. Or is there something else you are supposed to do?......

The others three didn’t compete, spend money, etc so they weren’t expected to do well. Hunter on the other hand was there, tent on the grounds, speaking from the podium and soliciting votes...... He was rejected by the voters....

I’m not “dead set against Hunter.” I think he’s a fine candidate, one of the best (but not the only) in the race, and I would gladly support him in the general election.
The problem for him is he’s not going to be in it.
I just think it’s time his supporters came to grips with that and maybe stopped being quite so dead set against everyone else in the race, because the day of reckoning is fast approaching for the Hunter camp.

Alright then. Hillary Clinton is what you’ll get us.
The rest of the country thanks you, I’m sure.

I think it’s time you get real honest and tell us who you really are supporting, because it’s obvious you have an agenda here.

I saw some scarry pictures of terrorists in England today that MSM won’t show us.

We NEED a borders guy because terrorists are coming through the Mexican border because it’s a joke, and a guy with the saavy to fight the WOT, and the best man to do that is DUNCAN HUNTER.

I’m not interested in one silly poll, where even the NATIONAL front runners did not do well.

I’m interested in someone who will protect our country, is pro-life, and has a spine - DUNCAN HUNTER!

May I suggest you do more research, and don’t be a slave to polls.

There a bigger things at stake than polls, and you can take that to the bank.

Frankly, I’m getting bored with talking about the poll.
