See my post 50 on the other thread. Michele Malkin clearly is an established journalist and her blog postings are a mix of opinion and reporting. I think that it the key element - create a process where bloggers who do actual reporting can get that reporting into the news section of FR. But there would need to be some kind of credentialing, IMO, to prevent abuse - plenty of folks (not you) have come to FR as a means to garner visibility for their blog, and such posting tend to add too much noise to FR.
