As Karl Rove embraced President Bush today following an emotional farewell announcement on the South Lawn, the solemnity of the moment was shattered by Bill Plante of CBS, who bellowed to Bush: "If he's so smart, how come you lost Congress?"

Should have this guy frog-marched out by a coupla Secret Service guys, and told never to come back, nor to send anyone else from CBS to the White House as long as Plante works for them.

Yes, the talking heads in the White House press corps don’t even pretend objectivity any more; the cat is out of the bag. My faith would be at least partially restored if they’d just admit it.

CBS is just trying to dredge up an audience for Perky Katy’s show. I don’t think it will work, Bill.
To: Greystoke
Just what one would expect from the Tiffany Network...a classless, clueless and biased reporter who felt a personal need to put his own pettiness above the news.
The people who run the MSM claim to be the elite, but go on to prove on a daily basis they are actually brain dead. Does anyone expect Bill Plante to be censored for his juvenile behavior or will he stand a good chance for promotion? We all know the answer to that one don't we.

Oh, yeah? If Hillary is so great, how come half the voters won't vote for her?
Oh, yeah? If John Edwards is so great, how come his mansion is smaller than Bill Gates's?
Oh, yeah? If Jimmy Carter is so great, how come he lost the Presidential election?
Oh, yeah? If Nancy Pelosi is so strong, how come she can't move her face?

Bill Plante has a lot of class....it’s just all really low! What a complete putz and to make himself out to be the clown of the White House media, instead of David Gregory shows his total loss of objectivity and lack of journalistic skills. Ummmm, maybe there is a reason he works at cBS, after all! Watch out Katie, your replacement is in the wings now!

Nothing new here, really.
During President Reagan’s first term, the press was rude and ruder - and the president never took the bait.
You should have heard the way they spoke about him in the White House Briefing Room just before a press conference in the East Room.
You think Plante’s remark shows disrespect? Wow, you should have heard what the louts were saying about Reagan in 1982! Holy cow.
Mr. Plante should know better. But he does not, and more’s the pity.

"If he's so smart, how come you lost Congress?"Good question, Mr. Plante. I suppose that ceding the United States to Mexico might have had something to do with it. Although, as Calderon's prefect, Bush is duty-bound to comply with directives from Mexico City.
