There's just a quick blurb at the links (as usual, details about upcoming seasons of '24' are sparse to non-existent). Actress Cherry Jones will play President Allison Taylor in the 7th season of '24'.

I have little doubt that President Allison Taylor will be one tough cookie, yessirree, and will outsmart everybody while at the same time making sure that all citizens of the US get health care.

We've had a black male president, a white male (who in keeping with pc correctness is ALWAYS evil) president, another black male president (another evil white president) and now a pc correct St. Joan Of Arc woman president. Here "24" is entirely predictable to a T.

Interestingly, Cherry Jones is also reputedly an "out" lesbian.

I disagree about the Woman President being like Hillary. The producer was trying to get a more masculine John Edwards type character.

Actually, the one white male President who went down on Air Force One (Season 5) was a decent sort.

More pc - a woman lesbian president. Liberals and their stereotypes.

That's why they put him out of the picture. The only good white male around is Jack Bauer.

Now he plays a cheating husband who left his wife for a younger woman and has a gay son, played by little Kevin from Wonder Years. Fred Savage.

The actress appears to be a lesbian, but I doubt that the character will. The odds are she will be a cross between Clinton and Margaret Thatcher. Remember, they pay virtually no attention to domestic policies on ‘24’.

That is exactly why I don’t watch TV anymore. They make families and fathers look stupid, and everything has some kind of “witty, social relevance”, which usually means they’re shoving alternative lifestyles down our throats.

And the the reality shows. Are they because we are so uncomfortable with real reality that we have to distance ourselves from it via TV?

My apologies. I shouldn’t have posted here, because I don’t watch TV shows.

Pardon me. No offense meant.

I don’t think it’s mentioned which party she’s from but, if I had to guess, she’s going to be a Republican - seeing as the last President was a Democrat in his first term.

This new season will focus on a green earth society.

I am under the impression that the 'green' in 24 is strictly about technical aspects of production, and has nothing to do with plot lines.

Here is a website with quotes regarding the season 7 plotline from the show's executive producer: http://www.thetvremote.com/gordon-talks-about-plot-for-seventh-season-of-24/

According to this article originally there was supposed to be a plotline in Africa, with a 'Black Hawk Down' type plot, then a 12 hour jump in the timeline back to DC. FOX put the kibosh on the plotline, for some reason. In Canada there was a rumour that there would be Quebec separatists terrorists. Now season 7 will be DC based 3 years after season 6, with the established presidency of Cherry Jones who has not heard of Jack, no other details seem to be available.

The show has had many great moments, but it has gotten a little sloppy the past two seasons. You can only take those “the-jig-is-up-then-the-phone-rings” eye-rollers so many times....

Also, the show basically gave up the pretense of “real time” after season two.

I’m sure I’ll watch ‘24’ again this season (I’ve been there since Season One) but I am getting cynical to the point where I figure the last shark-jumping sequence is right around the corner.

She could be the Beast’s cousin, lezzy and all. It is not a coincidence that she is POTUS in the 2008 year. Sutherland is a liberal.

This is nothing more than promoting the Beast.

I don’t care about the eco-friendly production methods. I don’t care about the woman president. If one of both of those things have convinced you not to watch the next season, well, I’m sorry but that’s ridiculous.

An acceptable, valid reason for not watching this season would be because season 6 was so weak (the writers admitted to this). But that’s not stopping me.

At the 24 writers panel at Comic-Con (which I attended) they said that season 7 would open with Jack in front of a Senate subcommittee answering for his so-called “crimes.” That sounds interesting, and probably a good opportunity to make a good political point that I think most in here would agree with. Also, “no more CTU,” and the show taking place in DC instead of LA should make for a very different season than usual.

I will reserve judgement and wait to see how this is all portrayed.

24 needs to remember who their main audience is though. They jump the shark this season with over the top pc bs then I will have to bid farewell to my beloved Jack.
