Well, I’m not the “decider”, but seems to me a hurricane tracking thread, which may well impact the cont u.s. would be considered news, rather than chat. Maybe it’s been declared otherwise. The chat sub-forum is typically designated for chitchat, sports, and essentially trivial concerns.
