Protesters seek firing of host Savage
San Jose Mercury News ^ | 8-16-07 | Javier Erik Olvera

About 60 people Wednesday gathered outside the San Francisco radio station that broadcasts radio host Michael Savage's talk show to call for his immediate termination.

The demonstration was prompted by a show last month in which Savage said Latino college students should "starve to death" after they fasted to call attention to a proposed law that would provide a path to citizenship for children illegally brought to the United States by their parents.

To hear people from a corrupt country attempt to deny an American citizen his right to free speech is truly frightening.

But to worry, protesters. Plenty of American police state zealots that are watching these protests closely and are looking forward to the day that they can accommodate you. Under the color of law, they will bring the hammer down on anyone who criticizes the government and the status quo. Just look at the slithering out of countrol hate speech prosecutors in Canada.

The funny thing is, Savage is loving this. Whatever the protesters say they want, what they are doing is giving him free publicity.

Why the outrage? Isn’t the point of an hunger strike to starve to death for ones goals?

Exactly. And these are FOREIGNERS "striking" to gain free" benefits that go to AMERICANS. Why should anyone give two sh*ts about them?

The funny thing is, Savage is loving this.

I think you're right -- and he should. Yesterday, he had a mic outside capturing the chants of the crowd. It was hilarious.

Even though I have some disagreements with him, I hope this boosts his ratings.

This is not WMAL. If they fire Savage, they may as well file for bankruptcy.

Well most Americans don't have time to go on hunger strikes or protest during working hours. So these fine Mexicans are doing it for us! Mucho Gracias!

It’s hard for me, a seventy year old man, to fathom what is taking place here. I grew up during a time when the USA was the USA. We were United and put our trust in our elected officials. Now our elected officials can’t be trusted. Over the years we have been sold out by them especially on immigration issues. It sems to me that many of our own politicians put illegals and their so called rights in front of those of us who are citizens of this country....
The democrats want these people here for votes and the fact that they can be controled under the socialisic tendencies shown by their party...The Republicans want them here for cheap labor in order to fortify Big Business.

The only reason the Republicans ae starting to act is because WE THE PEOPLE got mad as hell and couldn’t take it any more...WE wrote and emailed our congressmen and women and let them know how we felt..Congress tried to sneak that amnesty bill through and we complained, however I don’t think it will do much good..
Hellary just might get in now, because a lot of people from my generation are talking about not voting anymore. They are just fed up with politicians of both parties...

Let’s see how sympathetic the goo goo’s are towards the illegals now that the stock market is taking a dump. Savage has warned and warned the public that this government is allowing a bunch of spongers to feast on our wellfare system and will come back to bite us. Let’s see what all of these good illegals are going to do when things dry up. Hope you have big locks on your doors.

Only 60? Possibly, there were only 60 men waiting on the corner, when the organizers went out to roundup the “protesters”. I’m sure the signs were already made up and were simply handed out. Most likely these folks holding the signs can’t read or write English.

Yep. You are right. But apparently the powers that be at WMAL got some kind of message about being mau-maued because the guy who replaced him gets on CAIR’s case all the time. The local CAIR whores hate him.

Caller to Rusty Humphries last night had video of the protest. I believe he was from Young SF Republicans. I looked for it on You Tube, but it wasn’t up yet. Per the caller, some of the protesters he spoke with had no idea why they were there. Sounds like the city recruited them or something.

‘Hunger strike’ is just another name for ‘weight-loss plan’.

It’s the adult version of a 3-year-old holding his breath until he gets what he wants. Most toddlers learn quickly this doesn’t work. The rest become liberals.

There hasn’t been any “free speech” in the USA for many years. This protest is no surprise. The left is working feverishly to silence all voices that oppose it: Rush, Savage, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Dr Laura and others.
The left doesn’t believe in free speech. The left suppresses dissent and free expression of opinion.
They record and monitor all words spoken by conservatives. In daily meetings they scrutinize each word, looking for something to make a fuss over, knowing full well that their assistants in the media will pick it up and flash it on every screen and blast it on the radio every hour on the hour.

Savage's rating will probably go up, but to say he sought this or is "loving it" is ludicrous.

Mike is no spring chicken. Anyone who has been involved in a law suit either as a defendent or plaintiff know the emotional toll is takes, subtly or overtly.

He has to keep a stiff upper lip and try to turn this lemon into lemonade broadcasting-wise. This is justifiable given the public airwaves business he's in. Should he go off the air and hand the illegals and their radical leaders a victory?

I hope his ratings soar through the roof so that the more and more of the public at-large will see a microcosm of what commie/socialist/racist local officials are up to when they race-bait to stir up tensions and violence in the streets......as well as what these fascists are up to when they do violence to freedom of speech.

Would anyone here want to be in Mike's moccasins now that he's having to hire bodyguards and install security for his own self, his family and his home?

Some crazy illegal would off him in a San Francisco second after being stirred up by the radicals at the anti-Savage demonstrations.

Remember, some moonbat just stepped up out of nowhere on the street.......and Yoko Ono lost her husband.

It was funny to hear Savage proclaim how proud he was of his great “victory” over the SF BOS, when he in fact did nothing to attain it. He “won” only because there happened to be 1 out of 9 board members who still remembers what it means to be an American and respect the first ammendment.
