I’m sitting here on the back porch looking out at the Adirondack chairs I made for cyborg and me, thinking for the last hour that I should go sit out there, under the apple tree.
Just moments ago, as I sit staring at the chair, a tennis-ball-sized apple falls straight down dead center on my chair....it would have bounced off my sizable cranium had I moved out there earlier.

Border Patrol agent dragged trying to halt runaway pickup

EAST COUNTY – A Border Patrol agent was dragged as he tried to jump into a driverless pickup packed with people in the bed as it headed into oncoming freeway traffic in Boulevard late Tuesday night, authorities said.
Another agent steered his vehicle into the pickup’s path, stopping it with a minor collision. No one was injured, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
The incident began about 11 p.m. when agents noticed the pickup with people in the bed, under a blanket, near the Golden Acorn Casino. Before they could try to stop the driver, officials said, the pickup turned up the Interstate 8 offramp to Crestwood. The driver and front passenger jumped out, letting the truck continue westbound in eastbound lanes.
Authorities said one agent tried to jump in behind the steering wheel but was dragged until the collision with the other agent’s vehicle. Seven adult Mexican citizens in the pickup bed with a child were arrested.
The front passenger, believed to have been the group’s foot guide, also was arrested. After a 45-minute search by agents with a dog, Border Patrol and Marine helicopters, the driver, a Mexican citizen, was found hiding in a ravine and arrested.
A team of algore representatives would have been here with paperwork for me to sign, wherein I would be forced to acknowledge that yes, algore did invent gravity.
