WASHINGTON (AP) - The son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is preparing for deployment to Iraq next year.
Captain Beau Biden is part of the 261st Signal Brigade that has been told to prepare for duty in Iraq in 2008. They have not been given a date of deployment yet.
Biden -- according to a report on Radio Iowa -- says he doesn't want his son to go to Iraq, but says he doesn't want his grandchildren having to "go back in 15 years."
Biden continues to criticize Democratic rivals such as Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama who have voted against Iraq funding bills to try to pressure President Bush to end the war.

Not well publicized that Biden criticizes his fellow Democrats for not voting to fund the Iraq war.

This guy is utterly clueless (big surprise, eh?) as to the extent and scope of the War on Islamic Terrorism. We will be fighting these cockroaches until Armageddon.

But that’s impossible. Charlie Rangel explained to us that only the poor and non-white and underprivileged are going over to fight in Iraq, because they can’t get jobs here.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
Of all the dems Biden comes closest to “getting it” on the WOT. Which isn’t saying much. God bless his son.
To: golfisnr1
Biden is the only Democrat who I wouldn’t regard as a complete catastrophe if he won the Presidency. Of course, he’s unelectable for the same reasons.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
I hope the Lord protects him, as well as Duncan Duane, and the sons of friends of mine over there, and I pray that all our brave troops come home, “carrying their shields” one day soon.

I think Biden’s son is a JAG (lawyer), not a combatant, unless he changed his MOS.
In that lunatic region, he might be near harm’s way, but I don’t think he’ll be charging up Hill 207.

I wish Capt. Biden the best.......and won't it be interesting to see how Joe's opinion changes once his son is in theater.
You have to wonder how his attitude will change when his son starts telling him the real story.

Me too. No way I vote for him but he seem’s to at least thought out the results of his position. He seem’s to be trying to do something not just get/buy votes.

Yes, God speed and pray that this is not a publicity stunt to get Daddy’s seat. Living in Delaware, I am more than familiar with Joe Six Pack’s mouth and his liberal crap.

Gosh, I haven’t seen enough of Joe Biden and his Legislative accomplishments reported in the media over the last week. Let us get out here on FR.com everything that we can about this POS dumbass Senator.
Gosh, his son might have to go to Iraq.
Big effin deal. As if nobody else has had to experience that sort of anguish.
Joe Biden is still a plagiarist and a scumbag despite the heroics of his son(s).

Judge Advocate Generals Corps.Sometimes I wonder about the role of the JAGs in this war.
To: oldbill
I can assure you the enemy considers anyone who wears a uniform where U.S. are the first initials over their left breast pocket is a combatant. All who wear the uniform of our country should be honored and not belittled because of their MOS.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
I would not want to be Capt. Beau Biden for all the hairspray in the world.
To: caisson71
Why? All I’ve heard so far is that he volunteered to serve his country in a time of war. What’s wrong with that? As a vet I applaud his patriotism.

Beau is the state’s Attorney General. Elected position second only to the Gov. In lint to be th next Gov. This is a big deal. http://www.bidenag.com/

Patriotism trumps partisanship. As an American how can you degrade the service of an American based on his lineage? Maybe it’s me but when I served I never asked about the politics of the fathers of the men who served with me. The fact that they wore the uniform of my country was enough for me. Again I applaud his service.
To: blaquebyrd
Hang on to your pants. As a combat wounded vet, I also respect the service of Capt Beau Biden, especially since his father is such a classic liberal Democrat. Of course his commitment to his country by serving in the military is especially outstanding and commendable considering the left leanings of his father. My comments were meant in jest considering the ribbing he’ll get from his buddies.
To: caisson71
Yeah but by your reasoning the greatest conservative president in my life time, Reagan fathered kids who never served their country. Should he, Reagan, be held responsible for his son who chose to wear a tu-tu rather than the uniform of his country?

I saw part of an interview with Biden on Charlie Rose last week. He made the argument that he was the most electable Democrat in the field. I do believe that if he did get the nomination, he would be more difficult to beat than Obama or Hillary. The Republican Party is in a big mess of its own making, but despite that mess, it really has a good shot of holding the White House if Hillary, Obama or Edwards is the nominee. Gore and Kerry came awful close to winning, I believe Biden would be a better candidate than either of those two. Guys like Biden and Bayh could win if nominated, but thankfully for conservatives the moonbats have manipulated the primary process to work against nominating a more electable Democrat.

I’m underwhelmed - another lawyer for JAG. JUST what is needed in Iraq.

Joe’s name just got Beau elected Attorney General in 2006.
The prior AG, a Republican, got herself appointed to a judgeship by the Governor, a Democrat, whose claim to be elected was -it’s her turn.
That way there was no incumbent for Beau to beat.
My Delaware is a small state with even smaller people in government.

Beau just got elected to be Attorney General and was starting to step on toes and clean house—especially getting on Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware for not paying claims. Seems like someone wants him out of the way. This state is corruption supreme...

I agree that Biden is the most electable. That is why some Republicans are afraid he might get the nomination. But I do not believe he will get the nomination. There is too much push by MSM and others for Hillary.
