Outstanding footage-thanx for the link.
The first F-22s arrived at Anchorage a couple weeks ago. Sen Stevens says he is not aware of anyone on earth who would even think about going up against them.
I kind of consider these air show low speed maneuvers akin to the ole golf saying, ‘drive for show, putt for dough’.
It looks impressive but does not show you how fast it can kill the enemy in a combat environment.
agility + long range detection > raw speed
Dr.Fudge Alert
I missed it!
I'm pretty sure it's just the two of us that have any clue as to what a Dr. Fudge Alert is....lol!
Eric Hartman, all time leading ace (352 kills) said that 95% of his kills were on adversaries that never saw him.
When you go over the fence, you’re in his territory, he can come from any direction. Being able to out maneuver your opponent keeps you alive.
I’ve heard that an F22 might be at the Farnborough Air show later this year, which I shall look forward too.
Hopefully it will be less embarrassing than Farnborough ‘96 when the B2 Bomber made it’s first appearance and was successfully tracked and targetted in IR mode by an RAF Rapier SAM site for 9 minutes! BAE then used the video to show how useless ‘stealth’ technology was against the Rapiers radar. Iran then subsequently placed a large order for Rapier systems! :)
No it’s still there
Upon closer scrutiny, I see Dr. Fudge.
