Clinton says negatives won't keep her from winning
By Kay Henderson 29 minutes ago
Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton acknowledged on Sunday that many voters do not like her, but she blamed it on years of Republican attacks and insisted she has a record of winning despite her negatives.
Clinton's remarks came as the eight candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination debated in the critical early voting state of Iowa and just days after President George W. Bush's political adviser Karl Rove saying the former first lady was flawed for having high negative ratings.
Clinton and top rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, came under fire early in the debate at Drake University when other candidates were invited to comment on their perceived weaknesses -- Clinton's high negative ratings in the polls and Obama's inexperience in foreign policy.
"I don't think Karl Rove's going to endorse me. That becomes more and more obvious," Clinton told the audience at the debate, which was aired by ABC News' "This Week" program. "But I find it interesting he's so obsessed with me. And I think the reason is because we know how to win."
She tackled the issue of her high negative ratings head-on, saying, "The idea that you're going to escape the Republican attack machine and not have high negatives by the time they're through with you, I think, is just missing what's been going on in American politics for the last 20 years."

She’s playing her victim role to a tee!
Clinton is the typical leftwing kook. It is never that people hate them and their policies for legitimate reasons, it is always some kooky conspiriacy.
Ah yes, the Republican Attack Machine (RAM), the paramilitary branch of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.
Translation: I'm going to cheat!
And Rove should really be asking himself why he thought the 06 race was going to be a Republican win. Assess the mistakes and correct them, please.
It'll be a tough 8 years.
Don’t be to hasty now Mrs. Clinton, you haven’t been elected as President yet and in my book never.
A perfect example of how Hillary doesn’t care what the people say.
***...and insisted she has a record of winning despite her negatives.***
Winning what? H.D. Clinton carpetbagged her way into the senate by running in just about the only state she could get away with it. She has no record of “winning” a damn thing. Does truth EVER come out of her mouth?

This writer needs to go back to grammar class. And that’s just for starters. Journalism schools must be operating with no standards whatsoever.

Unfortunately, that is the Rat MO. That’s how she got her Senate seat.
Oh, Hillary can win all right. Just as Bubba did in 1992. With a plurality if the GOP is dumb enough to drift too far leftwards again. Such as nominating the likes of Rudy.
Sorry for the double post.
She's holding out for Newt, whose personal life is closer to Bill Clinton's than Karl Rove is, so she would know what to expect.
Yes, if we RAM of the VRWC stick together, and stay on message, she doesn’t have the ghost of a chance!
She’s absolutely right. Her negatives WON’T keep her from winning because:
a) 40% of the American electorate (democrats, small ‘d’ intentional) are mentally-stunted.
b) 20% of the American electorate is either too stupid or simply waiting for the appropriate bribe (i.e. ‘independants’) to care one way or another.
A cankled head bobber is un-electable....you know.
Exactly! It’s never stopped her before. Cheat, eliminate, lie. It’s the bread and butter of who she is.
A sorry state of affairs in this day and time when a complete moonbat like the beast is almost certain to be the rat nominee.Obama, yomama, osama etc the straw man.
“...won’t keep her from whining”?
That’s what I thought the headline said... more coffee please.
Democratic presidential nomination.
Democrat presidential nomination. (corrected)
Ahhhhh, poor baby. She is being picked on again.
She thinks that the Rove is gone for her good; Sorry Charlie!!..He’s in her cage big time now!!!!!.....
Bwah hah hah hah hah!
Run, Hillie, run!
” The funny thing is that no matter what she achieves in the public arena she will always at her core be a failure, unless she grows up.”
I believe she’s close to 60 so she has grown up.
What we see is what we will get.....
Don’t let that happen

“Clinton says negatives won’t keep her from whining”
This is how I read it too.!!
H. Clinton won’t be able to overcome her most serious negative - she has accomplished nothing.
Anyone who thinks it is their “right” to infanticide, to kill innocent children, not only should they not win an election but should be jailed for mass murder, crimes against humanity. She is an abomination.
She's right, you know. High negatives didn't hurt Stalin, Castro, Saddam, Mao, Ho Chi Minh or the rest of her role models.
Response: She is correct.
Comment: She and the other clown are symptoms of the underlying death wish of Western Civilization.
Here is some fairly recent data from the U.S. govt: Ages 18-24, voting rate about 35 percent. Ages 25-34, about 50 percent. Ages 35-44, about 60 percent. Ages 45-54, about 65 percent. Ages 55-64, about 70 percent. Ages 65-74, again about 70 percent. Ages 75 and over, about 65 percent.
I would think that this suggests an unhappy prospect for Hillary. Perhaps her candidacy would increase the percentages of voting among younger people, stampeding to the polls to pull the lever for Hillary, but I am not real sure about that. The youngest age group at least has proven pretty resistant to voting in the past even with strong efforts to motivate them.
In addition, I would strongly expect voters in the oldest two age groups too be rather resistant to voting for a woman for president, in any case. I would also guess they would be turned off by Hillary's stridency and manly personality and style of dress. I think Hillary will be a very tough sell to the 65 and older age group, and they vote in large numbers.
Among both the 55-64 age group, and the 45-54 age groups, both also high-voting-rate groups, I would expect that the earlier pattern of single and divorced women voting democrat with the men and the married women voting Republican will continue to repeat itself.
Overall, I would guess that age-demographics of U.S. voting rates just don't favor Hillary.
However, I remain concerned that voter fraud in high-population areas of high-electoral vote states could still push her over the top.
I just love the hypocrisy of "The Smartest Woman in the World" running as "The First Woman President" and the hopes and dreams of liberal feminazis everywhere needing to run on her woman-abusing husband's coattails to get ANYWHERE.
Interesting numbers, but here’s all you need to know (IMO);
As soon as Clinton can scare all them old folks into believing Social Security and Medicare will be destroyed by a republican, they will flock to her banner, regardless of what they think of her personally.
A large proportion of those older folks are “baby Boomers”, who are the most selfish group of human beings ever to live on this planet, and they too, will be easily bribed with Social Security and Medicare.
Both have already received, or will get, far more out of the government trough then they ever paid for or should have been entitled to.
The two richest generations of retirees in the history of the planet are the ones that are the easiest to bribe. Who would have figured?
I considered this potential effect, but overall I don't agree that it will outweigh the effect of voting among older people for a first woman for president particularly an unattractive one like Hillary. Look what happened in France, and they are even more wedded to their social programs than we are in the U.S.
Blamed it on years of Republican attacks?????
Ha,ha.ha...she not only has negatives she also lives in a fantasy world. Oh those wascly wepubwicans attacking poor wittle hilllerweeee...she’s such a tough, smart, intelligent woman and the only one who (according to HER) can enact change.
Face it hillereeee...people just don’t like you! You are not likeable. You are arrogant. Holier than thou if it wasn’t for willie you wouldn’t even be in the running. What you don’t realize is they may like him but they dont’ like you.
HaHa a democrat claiming Rove is obsessed. I wonder how many times in the past 6 mos. she has muttered Roves name?
Furthermore, the baby boomers aren’t old enough to occupy the two oldest age cohorts.
Eight years? Why assume that witch could even get elected once.Twice would be the end of the world as we know it.
It’s as simple as ABC. ANYBODY BUT CLINTON.
