US 'Sinking in Whirlpool' says Iran Leader

TEHRAN -- Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Sunday launched a new attack on the United States, saying Iran's arch-enemy was "stuck in a whirlpool," and would sink deeper in the future. "America is weaker compared to 20 years ago, and it does not have its previous power and grandeur," Khamenei said in a speech to participants in a religious conference, state television said.
"America and its followers are stuck in a whirlpool, and they sink deeper as time passes. A dangerous future is predicted for them," he added.
The United States cut diplomatic ties with Iran in 1980, during the siege of its embassy in Tehran by Islamist students, in the wake of the Islamic revolution that deposed the US-backed shah.
Relations have remained frozen ever since, and are marked by continued emnity, with the United States labeled as the "Great Satan" by Tehran.
"In the eternal battle between right and wrong, the Great Satan will lose out," added Khamenei.
Strains have increased in recent months over Iran's controversial nuclear program, and the detention by Tehran of three US-Iranians accused of harming national security.
Although US and Iranian officials have, this year, met three times in landmark talks in Baghdad aimed at bringing security to Iraq, they have failed to make any significant breakthrough.

Really? During that time we have kicked Saddam's butt twice! And Saddam is now dead. We have kicked the Taliban's butt in Afghanistan. We kicked butt in the Balkans. True... that we were a little weak under Clinton but those years are behind us now.
When so called "moderate Muslims" publicly denounce and renounce BY NAME their leaders who make statements like this. And when so called "moderate Muslims" stop sending contributions to terrorist front organizations like CAIR I will start believing SOME members of Islam are interested in peace.
In the meantime Islam can go to hell. I hope Mecca burns.

In Iran they are having serious internal problems, Iran is seeing itself pressured even by the Russians more and more and trade restrictions are taking their toll. There is a reason why they are sounding a bit like Baghdad Bob.

If I may though let me tell you about Riad. Riad was a guy I knew 25 years ago. He was Syrian. He was Muslim. He was a really nice guy. The man lived for baseball. He would listen to Cardinals games while he worked and loved the long ball.
The problem is that mild and moderate Muslims do not control Islam. Deep in my heart I truly believe that if some Imam or other Islamic bigwig told Riad to stick a gun to the head of a new born baby and pull the trigger Riad would do it.
We are at war. Our back has been pushed to the wall and we are in no position to give anybody with a Koran in their hands the benefit of the doubt.
I will. Muslims make up almost a third of the world population. If they were all fanatics like loonie toons we would see a war to end all wars.
They don't have to "speak" they have already spoken loud and clear by not participating in large numbers in the great world wide takeover that their more fanatic brothers have been calling for.
The only ones that have heeded the call are being eliminated and the majority of Islam is letting it happen with our help. That's no accident.
