She is talking about martyrs, not suicide bombers. She says "suicide bombers who call themselves martyrs".

You're doing her spin for her--she didn't say "suicide bombers who claim to be martyrs but actually are not" or something. The implication that they are martyrs is there and is unquestioned in this piece.

Excellent, thoughtful post.

When I talk to the liberals around me (I'm in Cambridge, MA, so they're swarming all over), it's really shocking how not one of them--NOT ONE--admits there IS such a thing as Islamic terrorism--it's all just the angry youth, or those who have a bone to pick with US imperialism. I keep getting in these arguments with people and none of them will even agree that there IS such a thing as Islamofacism.

It's quite stunning. They're like little kids putting their hands over their ears and saying "I'm not listening!!!" And the reason they do this is not because of any facts they have, but because those eeeevil right-wingers believe it, therefore it can't be true.

They are letting their minds be led by their emotions and their politics, which is the end of reason.

The liberal student movement at Harvard is simply awash with facts that they cannot incorporate into their world view. Islamic fascism is an Exo-national movement based on a common culture and diatribe bent on whipping up the emotions and anger of irs followers. INstead of a Nazi in the pulpet, you have thousands of Mullhas, spouting anti-semitic invective and hatred from their maddrassas and mosques.

And so we witness the fall of the intellectual gullible. Such naivete is something that America cannot afford. But it is pretty much 1938 revisited. Again we should not just rely on the platitude, " those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it." The facts are obscured in popular culture by a traduced media, and floated on the backs of liberal intellectuals of our university faculties, most of whom do know better, but have such hatred of Conservatism that they are willing to sell out their country in the name of a short term victory.

The facts will awaken them, even if it has to be a great , tragic event, such as genocide of the Kurds or Jews, as it was in 1938, or a nuclear device , dropped on Israel. It is their blindness and weakness that will prevent our nations interdicting such events. That awakening happened in 1938, the war occurred and was won, and the intellectuals still returned to support communism in our popular culture on the mistaken supposition that man cleaves to equaliuty of materialism rather than freedom. That movement was surpressed by McCarthy and many such as Anne Coulter, think he did us a favor. I am inclined to believe her today, witnessing our current liberal Utopianism and ignorance, than I was as a yonger man.
