Again, Dennis is out.

What is wrong with these lower tier talk show hosts? Don’t they know they have to pay their dues before they get to take days off?

Dennis has already paid his dues in his mind, I think. And he may have.

He doesn’t really take this show too seriously, and really, none of them should. He’s probably out enjoying summer.

Good for him.

However, I also want to make a bold, cynical prediction. When Fred wins the nomination, the Dennis Miller show shuts down.

I would not be the least surprised if Dennis wasn’t partly motivated to do this show as a free advertisement, CFR end-run for Rudy. If Rudy doesn’t win the nom, then the raison d’etre? for this show might just evaporate.

He has paid his dues to do standup, and to do SNL, but he hasn’t been on radio enough.

Oh, it’s Mike Murphy. I’ve enjoyed Dennis’s interviews with him.

I’m not all together certain what a “truther” is?

I meant when Sal plays radio host. Before the “I don’t know nothin’ about nothin’ until Petraeus comes back,” he was saying how he didn’t like us being in Iraq and that it was Bush’s war, so much so he even said Petraeus would only say what Bush tells him to say. I heard it on the rerun last week.

I’ve heard the term, just didn’t have a handle on it.

I missed that bit from Sal both times. But recall that it created some waves in the thread. Dennis mentioned it, too.

Some vernacular I never get because it means different things to different people. “Truther” is new and I need to see/hear it in context to get it.

“Truther:” A person who believes that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were an “inside job” perpetrated by the Bush administration as part of a New World Order conspiracy, and all those who think they’re wrong are part of a cover-up of the “truth.”

I suspect he’ll be back next week. The “two week vacation” is standard on Westwood One shows (Imus did it all the time.)

Meanwhile we’ll have to sit suffering through this.

I don’t think he is a real truther, but just thinks we went into Iraq for Bush’s benefit, not for overall USA benefit.

It ain’t the Dennis Miller show, but it’s politics with an entertaining delivery.

I can work and listen to him though. If I want to get work done I have to turn Dennis off when he is on a roll.

Funny thing is, when I hear Grace Slick sing the opening line to “Somebody to Love”, I hear, “When the Truthers sound all these lies.”

I know I could write a pretty good parody, but in no way could I sing it and do it justice.

In general, I like to engage people in political debate in a one to one forum. However, if I hit on someone like that I like to wind them up and watch them froth at the mouth.

They make conservatives out of everyone around them.
