well, some bedroom type scenes leave things to imagination. Such as when you see a couple under the covers in a bedroom scene in a movie.
but in this case they are showing a man totally excited??? yes this kind of thing crosses a line. But then it’s HBO and it’s pay cable so they aren’t bound by decency guidelines.
The FCC doesn’t have anything to say about cable tv or pay-per-view or what you can buy at the sleezy video store. Nor should it.

I don’t think the FCC has much control over pay-per-view cable.
Why would FCC get involved in a pay channel? Do you realize the government that you want in our lives only looks at three main channels...too many if you ask me. I don’t want government in my life or my family at all or as little as possible. My wife and I make the decisions about TV in my house not a government entity. It is a shame that you can’t do the same. It is not too difficult especially for a true conservative. Oh well. I guess some people just need to have the security blanket of government in their lives.
Actually, the pilot episode of the US version of Coupling was pretty much the same script as the UK version. The main difference was that the UK version was funny. The actors and their delivery in the US version were just bad. And you just can’t duplicate the UK Jeff, who is probably the only person in the world who could coin a phrase such as “porn buddies” for lack of any better terms and just be funny about it.

Since cable and internet are becoming alike, that's one way they could get their hands on it.
In the absence of truly creative, innovative, and intelligent programming, it seems inevitable that cable outlets like HBO will push the envelope as far as they can in the direction of the lowest common denominator, which often involves sexual themes. Now, I have nothing against sex whatsoever, or even its graphic depiction, but for $180 a year (or whatever it is they now charge), one might reasonably expect something better than the cheap thrills you can get on the Internet for free.
"RealSex" is absolutely crass and disgusting. That "Taxicab" filth is supposed to be critically acclaimed?
But I'm still waiting for the public outcry after seeing Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie giving people enemas and then watching them poop. Things have gotten bad out there, folks.

Its HBO, ratings are not the main factor, but the point of seeking the most money is very true.
That said, considering how HBO makes its money (remember, no commercials, ratings don't mean crap), this is one of the stupidest decisions any exec could make.
