Tancredo blames killings on lax policies (urges families to sue)
Denver Post ^ | 08/20/2007 | Angela Delli Santi

Posted on 08/20/2007 3:27:45 PM PDT by radar101

Newark, N.J. — Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo is urging the families of three young murder victims to consider suing the city of Newark for negligence, saying its lax immigration policy is at least partially to blame for the execution-style slayings.

The conservative Republican congressman from Colorado brought his immigration-themed campaign to the steps of Newark City Hall today, where he denounced the city's policy of not involving itself in immigration matters.

"I am encouraging the families of the victims to pursue the option of a lawsuit, in light of this culpability," Tancredo said, criticizing Newark's status as a so-called "sanctuary city" for immigrants.

Newark, like many other cities including Los Angeles and Chicago, does not require police officers to check the immigration status of those they arrest or to report illegal immigrants to federal authorities. Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow said today that immigration officials are typically notified when an illegal immigrant is convicted.

In the case of Jose Carranza, one of six suspects in the Newark killings, federal authorities were never told about the illegal Peruvian immigrant despite two prior brushes with the law. He was indicted twice this year on charges of child rape and aggravated assault but was released on bail both times, even though he was in this country illegally.

Mayor Cory Booker, who has said involving city police in immigration matters would hurt the relationship between police and the immigrant community, repeated that contention today, citing the conclusions of a Clinton administration study on the issue.

"Local law-enforcement officials should not be going out asking, inquiring and investigating whether people are documented or undocumented," Booker said. He said such behavior "creates a chill in which often the most marginalized and vulnerable citizens in my city do not feel comfortable engaging with the police. It's an environment I will never tolerate as mayor."

Booker then criticized Tancredo's efforts to inflame the community.

"We do not want people coming into our community and exploiting our pain for political advantage," Booker said at a news conference today

I would sue the pants off them.

It’s unlikely because my daughter knows NOT to go near that human sewer. It’s so bad there that in broad daylight, in front of people a black man had sex with a female dog. A policeman happened to come upon the dog. The girls did say they saw what happened ... the dog couldn’t get up ... but were terrified to give up the name of the black man that did it. That’s how bad it is in Newark. People behave like animals.

that pain would not be realized if he allowed "LAW ENFORCEMENT" officers to do their job. Where does it state that Police Officers are not allowed to enforce certain laws?

If they are within their jurisdiction, they have all rights to inquire about their immigrant status.

I didn't think of it until now but ... how does a city become one of refuge?

Was it a referendum that was voted on?

A fiat from the mayor?

I saw Bob Beckel on the news this morning. He was claiming that cities have the right to ignore the law and become sanctuary cities. I desperately wanted to ask him if he would be OK with a city deciding to outlaw abortion.

I’m in CA and was asked to go to Newark to bid a big project there for one of my national clients. I went and checked out the job and the general area.

I got back on the plane, went home, then called my client to tell him I wouldn’t be bidding his project. I told him to hire a mob contractor since they were probably the only ones who could get the job done without getting mugged or murdered. I was serious.

Insane quote from Mr. Booker:
“...the most marginalized and vulnerable citizens in my city do not feel comfortable engaging with the police...”

CITIZENS??? Mr. Booker, MS-13 gang members are NOT Citizens.

You are supposed to be protecting your CITIZENS - NOT the illegals. Get it straight, man.

It is really sick and sad when people put their ethnic interests above the health and life of their neighbors. Talk about divisive: If you are ‘one of us,’ you can do no wrong - and if you do, we’ll cover for you.

That attitude has ruined many neighborhoods and whole cities (such as Newark!). Are we allowed to notice???

This is exactly the right tactic. The federal government has a Constitutional duty to protect us from invasion. They have been negligent. They have admitted their negligence.

Cities are also fair game for creating ‘sanctuaries’. It’d be a like a city declaring itself a ‘sanctuary city’ where building safety codes didn’t have to be followed. You take a vacation and a balcony falls on you because of the ignored safety codes. You sue the pants off the city.

I have been crashed into 3 times by illegals. Oddly each time they were in a Ford F150. It got so bad if I even saw an F150 I'd pull over till it passed. It didn't help much. The third guy crashed into my car just after I locked the door and walked onto the sidewalk. Dude comes flying around the corner drunk as hell and crashes into my parked car. The car flew up on the sidewalk and came within inches of running me over, hits a wall then flys back into the street, blocking the road. Jose throws it in reverse and starts flying, burning rubber, backwards down the street his front end destroyed. He weaved as he drove backwards and lost it as he drove backwards at a high rate of speed through and intersection with me still running after him.

He ends up crashed into a palm tree, the back end of the truck about ten feet up the palm tree. All the while I'm running down the street after him going as fast as I can hoping I get a chance to "talk" with him. I drag him out of the smoking wreck along with broken bottle after bottle of beer smashing into the road as fell from the now open drivers door. I gave him some on the spot counseling. In fact the police reported 3 separate calls to 911 saying a murder was occurring. He made it out ok, though he needn't worry about brushing his front teeth ever again.

I asked the cops what was likely to happen to him , they said probably he would be in TJ shortly after they relaxed him, laughing at me. I told him fine then and that he would be laughing with no teeth. They seemed to enjoy that.

That was the last I heard of him. Oh, his name was Margarito. Ha ha.

Regards

I agree with Tancredo on this one. Here’s my standard post.

RICO —Citizen Recourse

Private persons and entities may initiate civil suits to obtain injunctions and treble damages against enterprises that conspire to or actually violate federal alien smuggling, harboring, or document fraud statutes, under the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). The pattern of racketeering activity is defined as commission of two or more of the listed crimes. A RICO enterprise can be any individual legal entity, or a group of individuals who are not a legal entity but are associated in fact, and can include nonprofit associations.

Here’s what I’ve been pushing: it’s time to file Racketeering, Influencing, and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuits.

RICO lawyers could turn it around in a few years and MAKE MONEY at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already.

In the absence of enforcement, we can get the word out in the meantime that there is money to be made in filing RICO lawsuits against employers who hire illegal aliens like this jerk.

Employers would have no trouble shutting down the border if they could get sued by someone under the RICO statutes for hiring these people in the first place. The next time an illegal alien kills someone in a drunk driving accident or somesuch thing, I’m going to point out that the victim’s family might be able to seek compensation from the employer under these statutes in the hopes that it would catch on. If this did catch on, would see such a swift backlash against illegal immigration that no employer would go near these people and they’ll all simply want to go back home.

You are bound to be disappointed if you are looking in certain places in this country - also know as "large urban areas".

These hell-holes are, by and large, populated mostly by fools. The people they stupidly elect prove that slam-dunk assumption by mirroring the common wisdom and moral character of their voters and enablers.
