My husband was in California for business, and I had joined him...(it wasn't a foreign country, like you, but felt like it on that day, as we live in Florida & wanted to be HOME, like you)

We were staying close to the airport and when the flights were grounded, it was spooky quiet....

We left for home that very week and traveled by car across country ....no flights available and I don't we would have flown if we could.

All across America on our trip folks were flying the flag....every building, office, home & bridge, it seemed.

I will never forget it.

What memory this video triggered...

..Like the woman, I was sobbing...(even with the time difference, I found the news on Free Republic before I turned on the TV)

When the first tower started falling, my husband & I turned off the TV and prayed for all those lives and families....

..and for our own families, not knowing what this meant for our country.

My husband was getting ready for work and I turned on the computer (Free Republic) and told him something strange was happening....all flights are canceled....(that's where we came in)

He thought I was making it up, until we turned on the TV.

Great video, but I have been told on another forum that the footage is from some "9-11 Truth sites." Maybe that's why we don't see the planes hit.

Does anyone know if this tape has been doctored to remove the footage of the planes hitting?

Unfortunately I'm not sure where I got it. I'm pretty sure I stumbled on it on the internet somewhere. I could scan my print but the quality would suffer as I had printed it on a less then great printer.

I could try scanning it just for show and see if some savvy web surfer could find the original again.

Sorry, I need to amend my last comment. The person on another forum didn't mean that this was a "9-11 Truth" tape, but that some of those sites have linked to it.

Watching that tape makes me as angry as I was six years ago. We need to start calling local and national media to pressure them to show 9-11 footage on the anniversary since they've been barely showing those scenes other than for a little time right after the attacks.

The disgusting Dems and DBM should have to listen to the last minute of this every time they do something that is against the best interests of the United States. I will always believe that Iraq would have settled down within a year (with a ripple effect across the Middle East) if the enemy had not been given continuous encouragement by the Dems and DBM to keep fighting.

Yeah, isn't it. John played bass in a band in the Rockaway bars and he was also a lawyer. A lot of special people were lost that day.

I knew he graduated from Fordham Law. Although I only (and barely) knew him from FR, the sense of his being full of life came through.
