DES MOINES, Iowa A pair of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's worst nightmares trudged past a giant blue "Hillary for President" sign outside the Iowa State Fair with palpable disgust.
"Hillary can go to hell," said Alice Aszman, 66, a Democrat from Ottumwa. "I'll never vote for her. I don't think a woman should be president. I think a man should. They've got more authority."
Her husband, Daniel, 50, also a Democrat, agreed: "I think women should stay home instead of being boss."
That's not what Clinton wants to hear from voters like the Aszmans, who described themselves as "working class." But there's also no question that, even as Clinton, the New York Democrat, widens her lead in national polls of Democratic voters, becoming the first woman president won't be easy.

I hope not!
Sure U.S. voters can elect a woman president, just not Hillary.
There... fixed it!
I have no problem with a woman as President. I have a tremendous problem with THAT woman as President.
Is there a woman running?
I’d vote for Ann Coulter.
How much you wanna bet that Alice and Daniel Aszman (aged 66 and 50, respectively) are Democrat operatives and Hillary! loyalists.
Correction....I hope not HER
I have no problem whatsoever with a woman as president. I have an extreme problem, however, with a carpetbagging crook rapist enabler as president.
But, please God! not that one.
IMO, her being a woman has very little to do with it. Although gender is important and not to be discounted. Many cultures including our own view men as the leaders. The Presidency is not the place to experiment or make a statement.
We need the best person for this position. Is Hillary the best we have? I sincerely hope we have better.
Hillary is a socialist and all of her policies reflect that base. She’s accomplished very little as a Senator with most of her focus being on building the campaign.
And then there is the fact have had two families in this office for the last 20 years (counting GW’s full term). I think its time for some fresh blood. Either that or we need to push an amendment changing us into an oligarchy.
Alice Aszman, 66, a Democrat from Ottumwa. - Presumably a Democrat operative
Her husband, Daniel, 50, also a Democrat - Presumably a Democrat operative
Roger Davids of Council Bluffs - Union hack
Sheryl McConkey, 53, an inventory manager from Council Bluffs - Union hack
David Redlawsk, a political scientist at the University of Iowa - Academic
Charles McConkey, 52, of Council Bluffs, is a maintenance mechanic at a pipe foundry - Union hack. Presumably the spouse of the Sheryl McConkey - union hack
Dick Applegate, 63, a retired steelworker from Waukee - Union hack
Arthur Henderson, 70, of Council Bluffs, a retired car-maintenance man for the Union Pacific Railroad - Union hack
Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack - a Clinton supporter
Not this time.
Bring me Condolezza Rice as a candidate, and I will vote for a women in a heartbeat. Just not one of those touchy-feely “for the CHILDREN” simpering morons, or a power crazed former-first-lady pschyo-b!+ch.
I would have no problem voting a woman as our next President.... just not THIS particular woman.
Real men don’t vote democrat to begin with.
Sure...if Laura Ingraham were running.
1) With the GOP having committed suicide losing control of the Congress, and
2) Dubya fading ...
the dims ... want the White House very badly.
Tubba probably sees 2008 as her only/best shot as Prez ... because:
1) Should another dim get the nomination and win ... assume an eight year run as Prez - Tubba becomes too old and Bubba becomes more feeble,
2) Should Tubba get the nomination ... and lose - the "little" people will have spoken loudly about dims.
So ... an interesting dynamic ... is the devil you know better than the one you don't?
Of course we’ll elect a woman President.....just not THAT woman....and I use the term loosely.
The questions is what kind of candidate will Hillary Clinton make, not some generic "woman".
Particularly when those Neaderthals work for the Hillary! campaign. Or do you think the Aszmann's just happened to be walking by?

The double takes are priceless.
If the woman was in the mold of Thatcher than yes. But Hillary, you are no Margaret Thatcher...you are more like Lenin Lite.
No. The democrats are running a socialist mohammedan, a socialist airhead, and a socialist hildebeeste.
Probably a planted story by the Hillary campaign. Hillary the victim and champion of women’s rights play better. She hopes that women vote for her because, “I’m your girl.”
notice the ages wife 66 husband 50. 16 year reverse age difference AND the over 45 set.
Also the autor seemed to pick the anecdote for the woman in change kind of implication.
socialist mohammedan = Obama
socialist airhead = Edwards
socialist hildebeast = Hillary!
Socialist elf = Kucinich
socialist plagarizer = Biden
socialist buffoon = Richardson
socialist half a sandwich = Dodd
notice the ages
woman 16 years older than her husband. The yellow allert of fake story goes up.
based on the anecdote here I predict more “older woman younger man” stories in the near future to condition the newpaper reading rubes.
Is Hillary really a woman?
I think we need a DNA test to prove it.
I swear she has a huge adams apple!
Although she does have a nasty case of “bingo arms” and nasty cankles!
