The War on Weldon Gets Scarier, Part II

WorldNetDaily.com August 21, 2007

This the second in a four part series detailing how and why a collaboration of Democratic activists conspired to unseat Pennsylvania congressman, Curt Weldon, in the November 2006 elections. Read Part 1.

I met Congressman Curt Weldon for the first (and only) time in July 2006. He graciously consented to assist me in some research I was doing. I, in turn, was able to help connect some of the dots in the chain of forces aligned against him.

All dots led to former national security adviser and current chairman of the “global strategy firm,” Stonebridge Resources, Sandy Berger. As Weldon then knew, Berger would not go down easily.

In fact, Berger was in the process of pulling off a brazen, political drive-by on Weldon, the one legislator who most seriously threatened the Clinton legacy and his own reputation.

Berger began his spring offensive in March 2006 with a fundraiser for Weldon’s opponent in the 2006 House race, Joe Sestak, a former vice admiral forced into retirement for what the U.S. Navy charitably called “poor command climate.”

Before being recruited to run for Congress by the Clinton shadow government, Sestak had expressed no political ambitions and had not lived in Weldon’s district for 30 years.

Although hosted by Berger, the fundraiser was held at the law offices of Harold Ickes, a veteran Clinton fixer, and Janice Enright, the treasurer of Hillary Clinton’s 2006 Senate campaign.

Kicking in to support Sestak was a who’s who of Clinton national security exiles. These included former secretary of state Madeleine Albright, Richard “Against All Enemies” Clarke, former national security adviser Anthony Lake, former White House chief of staff, John Podesta, and Hillary Clinton herself.

He's got part III on his site also

The DOJ also declined to submit Berger to a polygraph exam as required by his plea agreement.

It seems to me this should be opened-ended...that Berger can be called any time to complete the terms of his plea agreement.

Bush’s biggest mistake of his presidency was not getting rid of the remaining Clinton staffers and appointees.

Curt Weldon should be hailed a hero; the Clintons and their minions should be in jail and why hasn’t the Bush administration done something about this atleast behind the scenes?

...funny how the abledanger problem faded away.
Guess it’s one of those out of sight ,out of mind things.
Clintonista’s at work....me thinks the release of the latest “findings”, going back into Bubba’s era has the “cow” getting ready to spin her responses. Goofy will be at the camera again pointing with his bent finger saying something like..”I did not know anything about OBL” although the FBI and CIA went to sleep in and around 1996, when Corelick and the “Torch” were building “the Wall”

Y’all are not remembering Able Danger. Weldon wanted it opened.

Able Danger was a lexus-nexus type database that, even if disappeared, can easily be created as it is open-source programming and data-gathering. A few of the coders testified to that.

When it was quashed a couple years ago, we gnashed our teeth. Maybe some magnificent bastard is ready to re-animate it. Remember, history will get it right and we'll be dead.

Even in electric-blue Austin, headline today was how CIA ignored AQ & OBL.

(Cannot remember the Able Danger ping list to save my life.)

Remember it well. We never did get to see the witness testimony. I wonder if those guys are still alive...Shaffer, Phillpot, Smith et al

Weldon clouded his assertions by all of a sudden saying he wasn’t sure Atta was on the list.

Hadley never did say anything (that I recall) one way or the other...

MSM essentially tin-foiled Weldon and congress bought into it.

Rove thinks in 50-year timeframes. I so hope this comes back: talk about an overdue house-cleaning in State, CIA, congress, DC bureaucracy, all that. We archived Able Danger here to the teeth.

All four parts are on Cashill.com

If Weldon goes down for influence peddling for his daughter, Harry Reid should be right there with Curt. None of that is going to happen. The Dems just want Weldon neutralized. Behind the scenes, the Clintonistas in the DOJ will keep Weldon worrying about his own personal problems. Able Danger - Islamoterrorism - Chinese infiltration of the American economy and homeland thanks to Clinton et.al. selling us out (and Bush not reversing any of this). It’s enough to make a Head SPIN.

Agreed.

It's always made me wonder what his reason was.
