Baumann and the city’s attorney were not immediately availablie for comment.

Typical.

Cowards and bullies never want to the light of truth shone on them.

Why do incidents like this not get press coverage?

I don’t see any way this Sheriff and Judge won’t do jail time for this one. Wouldn’t be surprised if the court records have a gaping void in them, giving the judge no line of defense, guessing the judge accepting a plea deal and taking a 1 year sentence and probation would be the quickest and quietest way for the powers that be to brush this under the rug. The Sheriff is gonna get bent over a barrel for this one.

That’s exactly right! I told my son I believe his generation will be the determining factor how much religious freedom we retain.

Kidding! I have not heard about this. I sure hope the Christians are lining up to get their prayer break!

It only takes a couple of generations to create a pagan nation.

It has taken America about forty years.

Yes... It’s too bad they weren’t the ones who were reporting it.

[In the lawsuit Baumann claims that, while in jail, he was denied the right to use his reading glasses so he could read his Bible and look through the telephone book for a lawyer.
The lawsuit also alleges that he was not given a chance to post bond and brought before the city court judge without notice or legal counsel.]

Not only was this man’s 1st ammendment rights violated by renegade police chief Eason, he was also denied his basic rights to council and was railroaded by a local yokel communist liberal judge.

I am also curious as to whether there was a probable cause determination within 48 hours of arrest as required by County of Riverside v. McLaughlin, 500 US 44 (1991), since this was a warrantless arrest.
