WASHINGTON -- Senator Joseph Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, has been recruiting support for legislation that would sanction Damascus International Airport. Lieberman said the airport has become the major conduit for Al Qaida fighters to Iraq as well as Iranian weapons shipments to Lebanon. He based his assertion on briefings from the U.S. military.
On Thursday, the Bush administration released an unclassified version of a national intelligence estimate that supported Lieberman's allegations against Syria. But the report said Damascus, despite its increase in support for militias in Iraq, has cracked down on Al Qaida in wake of a determination that the Islamic movement threatens Syrian national security.
Lieberman said U.S. intelligence has determined that the lion's share of Sunni volunteers fly into Damascus International Airport and then proceed overland to Iraq. He said this makes Damascus the hub of Al Qaida travel in the Middle East...
Popeye Pelosi din't see nuthin' when she was at Damascus.
I don’t have a dictionary, but doesn’t “sanction” mean “do nothing?”
Lieberman: “Road To Victory” In Iraq Goes Thru Syria
Wake Up America, Before It Is Too Late !!
The U.N., after careful deliberation, will urge that member nations decline to honor Air Miles that have been collected by al Qaeda travelers making use of Damascus International.
Yeah, that’s it.
So why not drop several 2000lb bombs on the runways to make it inoperable?
But Joe, Damascus is our friend.
I would suggest we implement the Damascus bug patrol (if we don’t already) to track these cretins, right to their final resting place.
Having them slither thru one place could be very useful.
Just dont let the Democrats know what’s going on. They will first blab it to the NYSlimes, and then will attempt to defund the CIA some more.
My exact thought. Take out all of Syria’s airports now.
And the Bekaa valley, and Damascus,
and well you get the idea.
As far as I know, Shell Oil is still in a deal with Syria to pump oil from their land. As long as Syria gets support and money from others, e.g. Russia, Iran, and the western world’s business communities they are going to continue playing their little games.
Probably coming right up in about three to four weeks. Israel will deal with Syria in a heavy-hearty way, and finally destroy Hizbollah, with a little help from her friend, the USA.
General Petraeous will give a 'Thumbs-Up' report regarding the overall progress in Iraq, and the USA can begin to bomb the very-living-shit outta the Nuclear Facilities of Iran, and destroy their highly vaunted 'Republican-Guard'!
Remember Saddamms Republican-Guard? Pussies in Iraq and pussies in Iran! The wogs just don't have the stomach for a real fuckin' fight!
Then, Fred Thompson can announce for President, and promise that the first thing he'll do after he's elected is build the goddam wall to keep out the illegal aliens! He'll just be tapping-into that tremendous American emotion that was manifested a few weeks ago about the stupid, deceitful, shamnesty bill that the gummint tried to jam through. His coat-tails will be very long!
The dhimmicRATS will have never-ending diarrhea, and their slogan will be manifest:
Well, that's my wish-list - should be an interesting September ................ FRegards
For my part, I find 'walls' porous... I favor MINING the border! ...AND: it is a whole lot cheaper!!! [even if we buy the mines from Iran!]
Mines, huh? OK! But we still get to have the watchtowers with the .50 cal machine guns.
That’s a must ................ Hi Bob
