Sammy Hagar and Shannon Doherty are Republicans?
Very interesting list.
I'm not touching that one. LOL.
Jimmy Stweart. I miss him.
I'm not touching that one. LOL.
You'd be a fool NOT to... *wink nudge*
I love him!!
Mail Call is one of my favorite shows. And him in Full Metal Jacket is classic. The best drill Sergeant / boot camp scene ever in the movies!!!!
While conservatism and the Declaration of Independence are not mutually exclusive, the Declaration of Independence is not about conservatism. Conservatism is about smaller government, lower taxes and self reliance.
Tom Selleck, Tony Danza and Patricia Heaton are all conservatives. Fred Thompson gets something like an 86% rating at the ACU. Bruce Willis is nominally conservative at any rate.
Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., reads scripture on one of the religion channels, so I assume he’s a conservative. On the other hand, he’s so old he doesn’t count. I don’t think he’s done any acting in the last 40 years. He must have made some good investments back when he was doing “77 Sunset Strip.”
Looking over the list it looks like the GOP does a little better with the music industry than with film.
Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd
If true, that would be a big surprise to me because he so heavy into animal rights activism.
My all time favorite entertainer BOB HOPE was a Republican.
The big surprises on that list are Prince and Adam Sandler.
It seems that former porn stars are Republicans, current porn stars are Democrats.
Those were the surprises but Rip Torn was predictable.
Late nights surfing non-cable, I've seen Michael Biehn (one of the best character actors in American film, IMO -- Aliens, Tombstone, Terminator, Abyss) on a religious channel. I'd bet dollars to donuts he's a conservative.
I was a little surprised that Paul Anka contributed mostly Democratic. He always seemed like a conservative kind of guy.
Yes, that’s the guy. I remember he was in town with his x-treme sports ministry during a Luis Palau conference.
When you mentioned Paul Anka...that brought Wayne Newton to my mind...I think he’s a Republican...of course, he’s not Hollywood, he’s Vegas.
The Hollywood Patriots of WWII
Now I’m sure that not all of these stars were Republicans, but, even the most liberal on this list was many times more conservative than most of todays Hollywood elite.
What is so fantastic is how many of them put their careers on hold until they did their duty to their country. This list should also include those wonderful entertainers who entertained the troops or toured the country raising money for war bonds sometimes passing up movie auditions and on at least one occasion (Carole Lombard) , losing their lives on tour.
“...seemed like a conservative kind of guy.”
I think the big problem is that the California cities of greater LA and SF are sooooo far Left some think they are conservative because they stand up to the most nutty extremism. Then there are the hardcore Leftists like Striesand who put in some real serious money. Charlie Daniels does not have Barbra’s dough but he is down on that list with $500 ... all for Demos.
The young Hollywood trendy set supports the Dems about ten to one over the GOP wouldn’t you say?
I found this list on a Ronald Reagan forum. Don’t know how accurate, and many are sports figures, not Hollywood types, but there are some Hollywood celebs on this list that haven’t been mentioned.
Dr. Phil (McGraw)
Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod)
Freddie Prinz Jr.
Laura Flynn Boyle (?)
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Jeff “Skunk” Baxter
Jimmy “JJ” Walker
CC DeVille from Poison (still wondering)
Michael W. Smith
James Earl Jones
Jeff “Skunk” Baxter
JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME
Andrew Lloyd Weber
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Kennedy (MTV VJ- I’m very surprised http://www.jerseygop.com/RepublicanBabes36.html
Of course, who knows how accurate it is...they list Dobbs as a Republican...I think that’s a stretch!
Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Richardson, Dixie Carter, Gerald McRainey, Delta Burke, Bo Derek, Jim Cavezel...
Being concerned for God's creatures, even being interested in preserving endangered species, but not at the expense of people. There's a big difference between funding animal shelters and throwing red paint-filled balloons at fur wearers.
He named his son Holden, after William Holden- the man who taught him how to shoot a gun.
Oops! Meant Patricia Heaton.
Franco Harris is definitely NOT a conservative. He is active in Democratic politics in PA.
Like I said, don’t know how accurate it is, but there are names on there that are conservatives and I know were missed on the thread.
What about Glen Ford who recently passed away?
Keifer Sutherland is from a family of big time socialists from Canada.
His grandfather was Tommy Doulglas, the founder of socialized medicine in Canada.
Mother is Shirley Doulglas, father is Donald Sutherland.
Patricia Heaton tops the list. Not only is she a cultural conservative, but she has given $1.5 million of her own money to buy 3D ultrasound machines for crisis pregnancy clinics to discourage women from having abortions. God bless her!
Can't remember the title, but Ricky was lost in the out back and Holden took him under his wing until they got back to civilization.
Is she really? I always thought she was liberal...
I think it was called The Earthling. Its the film Holden taught him how to use a gun. They remained friends until Holden died.
Those are two different Baldwins. One is Stephen, one is Daniel.
Speaking of Wayne Newton, I know he had kind of a vendetta with Johnny Carson, who had insinuated on the air that Newton was gay. According to Newton, he actually went to Carson’s office and personally confronted him on the issue, and Carson finally backed off.
I hope he can find Christ and a life away from drugs.
