Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign and PLEASE forward this [as an] email immediately to everyone in your address book asking them to also forward it. We have a little less than two weeks and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America. If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same...you get the idea.
THE PROGRAM IS THIS:
On Tuesday, September 11th, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.
Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do...
(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.
(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11.
Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.
Thank you for your participation.
God Bless You and God Bless America
Please don't. Not ever. If you must spam the world, provide a simple e-mail and point to a Web site. The problem with mass-forwarded e-mail is that it doesn't stop spreading when it stops being relevant, and you'll get it back 20 times over a span of years.
Joseph Angelini, Sr. of Rescue 1 was the most decorated active firefighter in the FDNY. His son, Joseph Jr., was also killed at Ground Zero.
Which is exactly why I'm making an exception from my usual policy. This one will never stop being relevant and if it has a life of 20 years, well, that is a good thing. Perhaps this is the exception that proves the rule.
But I always strip off any embedded addresses and bcc those whom I know will appreciate the content. It may be a spam sandwich but at least I try to improve the flavor. :)
Me too.

Thank you for your kindness, do the dhue.
I was blessed to serve with RICK RESCORLA, and many other real life Heroes, in CUSTER’s 7th Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam.
Guess I’m the truly blessed one here..?

America Rules
Oh, he had to be there. I think it would have driven him absolutely insane to stand by and watch while his comrades -- at his age, more like his "kids" -- ran into harm's way.
There just aren't the words for men like him.
Absolutely!! The flag flies at this house 24/7/365. We recently had some landscaping done and had to take it down for a few days -- my house felt nekkid!!
And I'll go you one better... on 9/11, take the opportunity to drop by a firehouse, a police station, or a local military recruiting office or military installation with a handwritten note that just says THANK YOU. And if you're really good, take some Oreos and milk or soda along! You'll make their week!!
PHBLT!! BratRadix!
Party pooper.
BTTT
Fly the flag. Fly it high, fly it proud. I take no issue with the mesage, The proposed delivery method irks me
My only issue was with the statement "forward this to everyone in your address book." Oh, sweet mother, no.
I say fly it on every other day aswell!
Will do, I’ll put an extra one up right out by the mailbox
I love this post. I noticed lately while house shopping with a friend that not many people fly our flag. I hope this helps!!

I know what you mean.
Several men in my immediate family are or have been members of the FDNY (and NYPD). They rushed to respond and I’m so proud of them all!
