On the Wednesday night edition of MSNBC's "Hardball" Chris Matthews and David Shuster continued to use the Larry Craig scandal to bury the GOP and while Matthews declared "the downfall of" Bush's party was "driven by every movement of the body politic" it was his colleague Shuster who outdid him when, after running down a litany of GOP troubles ranging from Craig to the resignation of Alberto Gonzales, charged:

The Katrina “victims” don’t tap toes

They just barge in the stall of the taxpayer with the media and the Democrat Party holding you whole you get raped.

.. Danged if I know what the connection is between Craig and the Katrina victims.

Of the 600,000 viewers watching, 95% didn't know either.
The other 5% heard somebody, in the same sentence, mention Katrina and a Republican, so it must be right.

And Matthews tried to link other things too:

Even their holiest colleagues are now forced to acknowledge that the public indecency of Senator Craig has exposed the sub-prime Republican morality of those who have dared to rate themselves as culturally conservative?"

...

What an idiot.

It's just a chance for Matthews to get in another lick at homosexuals.

He's going to drive off his last 100 fans if he keeps this up.

>>Larry Craig a ‘Moral Insult’ to Katrina Victims<<

Would that include the Katrina “victims” who spent their $2,000 FEMA cards on booze and strippers?

The difference is that when this came out the GOP tries to dump the guy. When it happens to a dem it is a badge of honor. By the way, where does Barney Frank stand on this issue?

MSNBC-hate speech and lies from morning til night. The spitter and his poodle “lil davie schuster” are the laughing stock of cable television. I don’t know who the manager is over there (could it be the man who filed the false affidavit in the Scooter Libby trial, fat dim russert) but MSNBC has completely lost it. Spitball’s ratings are in the dumper and if the station had any sense at all, they would relieve chrissy from his doodies.

By the way, where does Barney Frank stand on this issue?

(1) Short answer: Barney Frank has publicly supported Craig.

Besides, Frank is not, IMHO, comparable to Craig, because:

(2)Frank has never been convicted of soliciting sex in a public restroom.

(3)Frank has never lied to his constituents about his sexual orientation in order to get elected.

I guess so, but Barney has paid for sex, and there’s no evidence yet that Craig has done so.

these Katrina “victims” are a moral insult to us Floridians who instead of waiting for the government to solve our problems and clean up after our hurricanes (3 within 6 weeks in 2004 where I live), got up off our butts and got to work to improve our own situations. FEMA was a bureaucratic joke in 04...nobody in their right mind would have sat around and waited for them to “help!”

In case the Katrina “victims” haven’t figured this out yet, nobody feels sorry for you if you don’t do anything to improve your own situation. Self-reliance - it’s the American way...

What? Are you mad. Barney’s lover was running a gay prostitution ring out of Barney’s house. Barney was censured for it but not prosecuted. I suppose I agree with you that Craig and Frank are not comparable, Barney’s crime was far more serious. Why was he not prosecuted? Janet Reno???

I don’t believe barney fwank when he claimed no knowledge of the call boy ring being run out of his apartment by his roommate/boyfriend.

Shuster still harbors extreme bitterness over being fired by Fox News. Too bad for him no one watches MSNBC. Nor are his career prospects looking too good. He is going to end up one grumpy old man...like Matthews.

Is this gashead Shuster still a “reporter” on MSN? I never watch so I wouldn’t know. How is he supposed to be taken seriously as an objective journalist when he appears on this show and spews his anti Bush, left wing venom?

Meanwhile over on Fox, if some of the reporters or hosts there dare to be impartial, and ask Democrats tough questions like real journalists would do, the Dems whine and cry like the losers they are saying Fox is “right wing propaganda.” Yet Republicans don’t try to boycott MSNBC. The GOP presidential candidates gladly appear on that network. This certainly proves that they are men of better character than their Demo opponents, who are beholden to the far left.

Dang! With shows like Mathews’ and reporters like Schuster how can there honestly be so many complaints about Fox News? I saw a bit of the show today and it was just one loooong Bush bash. Schuster is just completely biased and Mathews doesn’t even pretend to be impartial.

I wonder how many millions the Dems save by having MSNBC do their advertising for them. Someone should do a study.

This just demonstrates another difference between left and right. MSN and the rest of them are Democrat flunkies but the GOP shrugs it off and deals with it. I don’t know what else they could do. If they complain about media bias they immediately get labeled as cry babies. But the left looks at fair and balanced reporting and screams “unfair!”

Craig has never had a boyfriend running a call-boy operation from the basement of his D.C. house as Barney did. Now he’s the chairman of a committee. That’s the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats have no standards...as Wm. “Cold Cash” Jefferson’s presence right next to Gov. Blanco at the Katrina festivities in NO today so clearly illustrated.

And we have a winner! Democrats are happy to be amoral. Ethics are for Republicans and the rest of the peasants.

Obviously the talking points have gone out from DNC headquarters: Make Larry Craig the “face of the GOP.” Pull out all the stops, make sure that when Joe Six Pack thinks of “Republican,” he thinks of “Larry Craig The Pevert.”
