Now, not that I would endorse such a strategy, but do you know how easy it would be to “disable” a truck?
H2O in a diesel tank would grind that trip to a halt.
They do have to refuel.

Most people don’t realize the cost to maintain a rig by US and state standards.

Just wait until the number of innocent interstate driver fatalities begins to pile up because of their nonchalance.

One good outcome might be that all the idiot car drivers who like to blurt in and out in between big rigs might get cleared off the road by Darwinian justice when they drive the same around the Mexican specials.

And I’d be willing to bet (though of course you know I’m not betting man) that the trucks will be decaled by door, and people will know which haulers are which.

“The trade agreement requires that all roads in the United States, Mexico and Canada to be opened to carriers from all three countries.”

Does this mean that Mexicans will be allowed to drive their trucks to Yellowknife this Winter and haul stuff on the Ice Road to and from the diamond mines?

1Counter...I concur with your sentiments...only one major problem my Freeper Friend, the highways and byways of America are already serviced by Mexican Mechanics be it tires, brakes, Diesel Engines, whatever. They have their little pickup trucks with the compressors, lube pumps, tools running all over the place already. It won’t be the major Service Centers these slipshod Mexican trucks will be calling for help. It won’t be the same services that major American trucking companies use. The Mexican system is already in place, and has been for many years.

Most unfortunate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good point,,,but,,,I’m in Northwest Louisiana rite near I-20
and if there is a break-down the truck must be hauled off
the road by one of only a few heavy-tow-trucks,,,State/Local Law,,,
“Precedant setting”
The really good news though is that it is the 9th. They are so regularly overturned their rulings are like a perpetual motion machine.
Nothing is ever settled when they say it is. In fact given that it is the 9th the chances are great it will be overturned.
Unfortunately, I am to. I voted for him twice but have come to realize that he is no conservative. Excessive spending, campaigning for Arlen Sphincter (and other RINOs), turning a blind eye to the border, Harriet Meyers, Dubai Ports, and the ever expanding government (prescription drugs, no child left behind) in which he was a willing accomplice are just a few examples of his deviations.
I could easily overlook a few of these missteps, but when taken together, it is a bitter pill to swallow.
The American Trucking Association has developed some “Share The Road” guidelines for motorists to follow.
The American Trucking Association’s Share The Road Guidelines for Motorists:
Never cut in front of a bigrig truck - Fully loaded bigrig trucks weigh up to 80,000 pounds and take the length of a football field to stop. Most cars weigh only 3,000 pounds.
Don’t linger alongside a bigrig truck - There are large blind spots around bigrig trucks where cars momentarily “disappear” from view and the driver can’t see you.
Pass big rig trucks quickly - To make themselves visible cars should not linger near bigrig trucks, and should move past them or slow to back off out of the blind spot.
Changing lanes - Change lanes when you can see both of the bigrig truck’s headlights in your rearview mirror.
If possible, pass a bigrig truck on the left, not on the right - A bigrig truck’s blind spot on the right runs the length of the trailer and extends out 3 lanes. Motorists should try to avoid passing through this large blind spot.
Keep a safety cushion around bigrig trucks - Try to leave 10 car length safety cushion in front of a bigrig truck and stay back 20-25 car lengths. Following a bigrig truck too closely obscures your view.
Check the bigrig truck’s mirrors - If you’re following a bigrig truck and you can’t see the driver’s face in the bigrig truck’s side mirrors, the bigrig truck driver can’t see you.
Allow bigrig trucks adequate space to maneuver - Bigrig trucks make wide turns at intersections and require additional lanes to turn, so motorists should allow a truck the space it needs to maneuver.
On September 11, 2001 our president could have closed down our borders. He did not.
Not only did he fail to close our borders and protect the American people, but he is also trying his damndest to eliminate those same borders and turn us into one big happy North American family.
Well, I’m seeing there’s nothing coming from the Teamsters yet tonight. They’ve probably already been told not to waste their time with appeals.
“Sad Part Dat...”
The whole thing stinks. Wonder should someone start a Daily President of Mexico Thread?
God bless President Felipe Calderón and his brave truck-drivers.
Immigrants, (especially illegals), are exempt from prosecution in New Jersey. Not in theory, but most definitely in practice. And it’s not the only sanctuary state.
As a trucker, you should be concerned about your rates. If you’re not happy with what the illegals have done to your rates, wait until you see what an influx of legal third-worlders will do to your rates.
Now might be a good time to look into another line of work. How are you at playing the stock market?
