Thanks for bringing the Zimmerman Note up. I am going to research what the Mexican response, if any, was.

'Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico', ...

I don't see a damn thing out of character with the President of a chaotic foreign land making this sort of bombastic statement. I also don't see why an American President (Oh say, somebody like George Bush) shouldn't deliver a very public, yet highly diplomatic, STFU to Calderon.

Let's make this an opportunity to correct Calderon. After all this kind of statement is totally uncalled for from our point of view. WHo does this Mexican think he is with this 'Greater Mexico' crap; an Albanian?

This is very foolish statement by the Mexican el presidente and not very far from a declaration of war.

It is definitely an act of war when pictures are posted of the American flag flying upside down and below the Mexican flag on U.S. soil.

My 4th great grandfather fought and died at the Alamo so Texas could be a free republic. May all true American patriots have the wisdom and courage from God to pursue the right actions at the right time to protect our nation.

Mexico’s reply was “We don’t have enough Mexicans in the Southwest to hold it, YET”!

Although the Mexicans concluded that they couldn't hold the Southwest even if they took it, I think you are historically incorrect when you say "YET".

But historical inaccuracies aside, do you really give much weight to Mexico's statement? It is clear to me that Mexico had no intent on invading the US. But assuming for a moment that for some reason you do believe the Mexico intended to invade the US, you would have to agree that the US was much more serious about invading Mexico. After all, a lot of planning went into War Plan Green, the invasion of Mexico.

Also, if you believe a few sentences from a Mexican general indicates the likelihood of war, what do you think of War Plan Crimson, a 20 page plan for an American invasion of Canada?

As for me, I don't think a few sentences from a Mexican general was any more serious an effort to consider war with the US than War Plan Green was a US effort to start a war with Mexico. For that matter, I don't think the 20-page War Plan Crimson was a serious effort to plan war with Canada.

I think you're a little paranoid.

See #59 you aid and abet CRIMINALS!

Again, I believe it is an obligation of a government to protect the interest of its citizens abroad. This is true even if the citizens are engaged in illegal activity. BTW, it is the official policy of the United States to assist Americans in legal trouble abroad.

I support the American policy. I understand if Mexico has a similar policy.

Mexico has long wanted to take back lands lost to Texas and to the USA as a result of the Mexican-American war. Mexicans consider these lands (South West USA) their lands. Calderon statements are, from the Mexican point of view, quite reasonable and represent their national policy/goal of reclaiming the American South West. Mexico is engaged in a effort to peacefully over run and reclain S.W. USA.

I’m curious. Do you think the State Department should assist Americans while they are out of the country?

Mexico has never been a friend of our United States.

Based on old pesos!

The looters of Mexico want to have the freedom to loot America.

After spending several years starting oil exploration crews for Pemex, I think I have The reason Mexico has become so bad.

I like the Mexican people in the fly over parts of Mexico. The mid level and workers of Pemex are good. It is the government and the high up in Pemex that are the vultures and looters. The peso was about 8 cents (12.5 to a dollar). When Pemex found the sito grande, a very large oil pool that covers parts of the states of Chiapas and Tabasco also a long ways into the Gulf of Mexico.

Pemex borrowed billions to produce this great oil find. The looters (government) stole most of the money and what they did buy was junk oil rigs and drill pipe, etc. 1,000 pesos which was worth about $80 now will not buy a coke (old pesos). This was due to the looters stealing billions from the Mexican people.

Instead of overthrowing the looters the Mexican people had an out, they had no weapons and they could cross into America and have a much safer life. This hurts both Mexico and America as Mexico lost some of it’s hardest workers. The gangbangers and welfare frauds also came over from Mexico as they could rape and pillage at will.

The government of Mexico is propped up by the billions sent back by the illegals and by our government having borders that are too open.

The only chance I see to help America and Mexico is to seal the border, deport the people who are not here legally. We also need to arm the Mexican people so they can have a chance against the looters with their armies.

Never mind, I already know...

I can see you’re very emotional about this topic. Even when I asked about an American policy affecting Americans, you went on a rant about Mexico.
