St. Paul RNC convention anarchist press conference: "Together we have magicked"
FreedomDogs ^ | 09/03/2007 | Minnesocold

Posted on 09/03/2007 4:55:24 PM PDT by Minnesocold

Today on Labor Day, friends and I attended a press conference held by the "RNC Welcoming Committee," an anarchist group promising to disrupt the 2008 convention in St. Paul, MN. About 15 were present, 5 of which were the anarchists.

Three reporters arrived and set up their cameras (MPR, WCCO and local cable access). One anarkid handed out a printed release while the spokesgrrl put on her microphone (this part is overheard and paraphrased):

Reporter1: What’s your name?

SBR: I’m Sandra Brown-Rivers from RNC Welcoming Committee.

Reporter1: What’s your title?

SBR: I don’t have a title.

Reporter1: Can’t we have a little background on your organization?

SBR: Um, we’re not taking questions. I’m just reading this statement (This part is verbatim of their release):

Thank you, ladies, gentlemen, and otherly-gendered of the press, for joining us on this, most glorious of occasions. This Labor Day, weekend, anarchists and anti-authoritarians from every city, every town, every hamlet, every last Hooterville of this great nation converged a grand congress. Together, we have magicked into being a detailed plan, worthy of note, to receive the 2008 Republican National Convention. Like many a good plan, it is broad in scope, aimed at nothing less than complete control (!!) of this hallowed turf, our fair city. Today, we declare our first victory, having achieved a complete shutdown of government services citywide. This we have accomplished whilst wading in the dark tide of the State and their attempts to crush us on the eve of our festivities, when the gentle flesh of our comrades was met with hard metal and penetrating volts by members of the self-appointed police force— a foreshadowing glimpse. Yet here we stand, and our chariots ride on. Much as a phoenix rises from its own ashes, we admit that tomorrow the city will function anew. But know this: its hegemony, like all but the truest of loves, is fleeting, ephemeral. ###

Anarkids exit, stage left - to their bike or daddy's car.

Please see Mitch Berg's post at Shot in the Dark blog, where he called this "the most perfectly self-fisking statement in the history of public oratory." You can’t make this stuff up.

TOPICS: Extended News; Politics/Elections; US: Minnesota
KEYWORDS: 2008rncconvention; anarchist; bookemcuffem; convention; cruising4abruising; cuffembookem; gop; kooks; rnc; stpaul
Note to anarkids: you didn’t achieve a shutdown of services citywide. It’s a federal holiday, dropouts. Go back to school.

Sandra Brown Rivers ... "Sandy, Brown Rivers" Like, say, the Mississippi River?

This is some fairly amazing stuff. At least our kids don’t graduate from high school without knowing how to make absolute fools of themselves. Gotta give the education department kudos for that.

They may not be able to make change, write a coherent paragraph or think their way out of bed, but they sure know how to manage anarchy all on their own.

I know I’d sure be proud to know I set them on this path. NOT!

The home-grown anarkids don’t appear to be too threatening. LOL

The ones I’m concerned about are the professional protestors bought and paid for by Soros, et al. I was in Uptown a couple of years ago when the bike people literally shut down Lake and Hennepin.

Ryback and the idiot in charge of St. Paul probably have the police on a very short leash. Gah!

Thanks, But3. Today's press conference was a farce, but it was a legit press conference. The reporters were quite put out when the "spokesgrrrl" refused to answer questions.

The big guns (Soros groups and unions) will be much more of a problem next year than the kiddies. But local protest groups will have problems now that these idiots are infiltrating.

New Jersey FBI Director Warns Of Homegrown Terror Threat
Posted on September 3rd, 2007 by Homeland Security NTARC News

New Jersey’s new FBI director warned Friday the homegrown terror threat is an ongoing concern and that his agents are currently tracking numerous extremists in the tri-state area who are potential security threats. “There are individuals that we are very concerned about that are engaged in activities that are criminal and potentially threaten the homeland,” said Weysan Dun, Newark’s FBI Director. “We are very aggressively working to monitor these individuals to develop the intelligence and certainly when we can develop a prosecutable case to take effective law enforcement action.”

Dun said he worries six years after the 9/11 attacks that the public is growing weary and “complacent” about the ongoing terror threat. But he stressed there are no new specific plots or threat information for the New York and New Jersey regions.

Dun is a 25-year FBI veteran who had been running the FBI’s Springfield, Illinois division.<<<

This thread reminds me of the above article.

Thanks for the ping.
