A SWAT team has entered a Newington, Conn., synagogue in a stand-off situation.
Officers sent a police dog inside shortly before 7:30 a.m. and followed it into Congregation B'nai Sholom on Church Street. Police earlier had used a megaphone to ask the person or people inside to come out, and tossed an unknown object into the building.
The initial call was for a possible break-in. Heavily armed officers surrounded the synagogue, and New Britain police were called in to help.
Three dirt motorcycles were parked outside the building. A neighbor told WFSB-TV that the motorcycles were stolen from her shed.
Two schools near the synagogue delayed opening because of the stand-off.

This part is interesting......I can’t wait to learn more about the neighbor, the dirt bikes, and her house.
It won't be Muslims. It never is.

Newington (WTNH)_ After a long stand-off type situation, police say no one was inside a Newington synagogue.
The key holders at the Congregation B’nai Sholom Synagogue have been contacted and are currently going through the building to see if anything was taken.
Police and SWAT team members went to the synagogue on Church Street around 5:15 this morning. They surrounded the building, with weapons drawn, and eventually went inside to investigate. A voice believed to be a negotiator was heard talking on a bullhorn throughout the morning.
One neighbor told News Channel 8 some teens were trying to steal dirt bikes from a nearby home, and may have fled into the synagogue when police arrived.
Part of Church Street was shut down for several hours. New Britain police officers were brought in to help control traffic in the area.
John Patterson and John Wallace schools were put on a two-hour delay because of the police activity.
Police say all roads and schools are now open. There is no threat to the general public.
Jews for Hondas?
That joke is second only to the “bush’s fault” joke. Gawd I get so tired of those posts - bringing nothing to the thread.

I understand your displeasure, but how does a post that adds nothing to the thread (yours) get that point across?
If you want to jump down my throat for making the above statement (which likewise adds nothing to the thread), get in line.
hmmm, you may have a point.
LOL!
