California Republicans are heading for a showdown over the direction of the party.
Gov. Schwarzenegger wants the state GOP platform boiled down to as little as a single page focusing on lowering taxes, limiting the size of government and building a strong national defense.
But conservatives say he's attempting to undercut party positions on everything from support of traditional marriage to immigration.
State Republicans begin work this weekend on a new platform at their fall convention. The governor is circulating a letter that calls for a trimmed-down platform. It does not mention abortion or gay rights.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
What does he take us for, rubes?
CA: Schwarzenegger to sign sweeping global warming bill(s) - (AB 32 and SB 1368 too)

Don't answer...I know the answer.
I just had someone on another thread deny that this schmuck is worse than Gray Davis.
Gee, ya think? Why is anyone surprised? Schwarzie is and always has been a RINO.
Wonder Bread run out of California for carbon diox emissions
Limited government, my a**.
And this is a surprise why?
OK, let’s build our bridges with wood then...cheez.
That would be great if he actually meant it. It's what the national GOP should be doing. Clear, simple goals that don't make swing voters heads hurt.
Arnold's big problem is that he hasn't done anything significant to restrain the growth of government. Like most Republicans, he seems to consider it the cost of doing business.
He is worse than Gray Davis because at least we knew GD was a Democrat. Arnie sticks an R behind his name, acts as badly as GD, all the while stabbing conservative Californians in the back.
I would much rather my enemy approach me from the front.

I gagged at this one:

Ummm... sorry.... try reading it again, as well as the multiple other articles written on the subject. In no way was McClintock "complaining" about the infrastructure plan being bad for the environment. He was pointing out the hypocrisy and utter ridiculousness of Arnold's programs, that AB 32 provisions would cause a waste of bond funds and limit the cost effectiveness of the infrastructure programs that passed.
Thankfully, this was corrected by legislation included in the annual budget.
BTW, McClintock was an avid opponent of Arnold's destructive AB 32 legislation.
Better yet--let's get rid of the useless and destructive regulations imposed that make infrastructure so costly,
all in the pursuit of solving Global Warming myths!
You’ve got that right about global warming. It’s just hype.
Actually, if you look into various aspects of the Global Warming mania, you will find it is fueled by both socialists wanting wealth redistribution and some creative capitalists trying to cash in on the cap-and-trade aspect. A very dangerous alliance, IMO.
What is it about liberals and socialists, always trying to foist some chicken little stunt on the world. They really tick me off.
the guv sure turned out to be a dud,
didn’t he?
