**Craig Reversal Angers GOP Colleagues**

Just when Republicans thought things could not get much worse for their scandal-stained party, Idaho Sen. Larry Craig leaked word Tuesday night that he is reconsidering his abrupt plan to resign from the Senate in the wake of his arrest in a police sex sting operation.

Top Republican strategists were neither delighted nor amused by the senator's decision to rethink retirement after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct following his arrest in a Minnesota airport men's bathroom.

TOPICS: Government; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: larrycraig; republican; resignation; senate
In related news, the sun will rise in the east and possibly set in the west.

Larry Craig wants to drag the rest of the GOP down with him (forgive the unintended pun).

Legally he wasn’t subject to arrest however he did plead guilty.

Morally and ethically he should get the heck outta there. he’s a scum bag that needs to take the rest of the scum bags with him as he leaves.

Why in the hell he volunteered to plead guilty without ever consulting lawyers is beyond me. Talk about self immolation.

“Talk about self immolation”

He should resign for being a whackjob that brings shame onto his family, country and himself. Who cares about the legal requirement. Good grief we still have a congressman who was caught with bribe money in his freezer and another senator who illegally steered govt contracts to her husband.

And we call Mexico’s govt corrupt, sheesh.

“.....republicans and their scandal-plagued party?”

Yeah, the democrats are pure as the driven snow... sarc/

Bill Clinton selling our nuclear secrets to China for campaign contributions in 1996.

Hsu and company recently giving tons of money to Hillary and the democrats, money whose origins are suspected to be from China

Diane Fienstein directing military contracts to companies controlled by her husband while she was on the Senate Armed Services Committee

Harry Reid voting taxpayer’s money for a bridge across the Colorado River from California to Arizona, not mentioning that he owns land on the Arizona side near the proposed bridge; other shady land deals in Nevada with his son

William Jefferson of Louisiana and the $90,000 in his freezer

Cynthia McKinney slugging a Capitol Hill Police Officer

Patrick Kennedy recklessly driving through the streets of D.C. while under the influence of drugs and alcohol

Ted Kennedy and Christopher Dodd and their waitress
sandwiches

Barney Frank and his homosexual lover “Hot Bottom”....
Hot Bottom ran a male prostitution ring out of Frank’s
D.C. apartment and Frank fixed ‘ole Hot Bottom’s parking tickets.....

Hillary and Bill and their illegal possession of 1,200 FBI files

Sandy Burger stealing national security documents by stuffing them down his pants at the National Archives

Bill Clinton giving presidential pardons to criminals,
including Puerto Rican terrorists who murdered police officers

.....and on it goes.

The Republicans, while far from perfect, are saints compared to the donkey party.

I think Barney would celebrate by throwing a slumber party.

I said that Craig should probably do a comedy routine in Vegas.

What else could he possibly do after this...?

Lets put the blame where it belongs for this extension of a scandal that should have just dissappeared. Arlen Spector.

Larry Craig, is obviously a weak man grapsing at straws to try and save his life. He's a desperate man struggling to prove to the world he's not a pervert.

Spector, gave this story new life. Why would he do it?

That’s just what I thought when I saw the headline — the GOP should direct anger where it most belongs now:

Arlen SPECTRE who recklessly breathed life into this foolishness just when it was all going away. Thanks, SPECTRE, once again you really show the kind of judgment that has served your party and your country soooooo well...... /s

Spector, gave this story new life. Why would he do it?

Simple, he has a deep rooted animus against the GOP. Nothing gives him greater satisfaction than undermining his Party.

Come on, even Spector can't be that stupid. The GOP, if nothing else, had been able to resolve this mess in short order. Craig would step down, his replacement was picked, time to move on.

No such luck.

Alren has to throw a monkey wrench in the gears and keep this story front page news. It's sickening to think Spector is still around to f*** things up in ways that even his worst critics had never dreamed possible while a good man like Santorum is gone.

This is deliberate on Spector's part. It has to be.

Yes, I thought of Gerry Studds, but I was trying to keep the list short. Also, it’s early in the morning....some freepers are eating breakfast, and I didn’t want to make them barf.

The reason Studds deserves a dishonorable mention is because all of his fellow democrats came to his defense and even gave him a standing ovation in Congress.
Disgusting.

Studds should have gone to prison for having sex with minors. The crap the democrats get away with boogles the mind.

It is easier to get a pack of hungry pit bulls off of a meat truck then to get a Senator to resign unless the Indictment was just handed out and their Wife, Mistress, Banker and Campaign manager and Attorney just got the subpeona’s.

This was a setup. That police officer was waiting for Craig and determined to entrap him and audiotape him. He was targeted...

The FBI should be called in to do a thorough investigation of the events leading up to this “non-incident” which has been blown way out of proportion.

I say give Larry Craig a chance = an FBI investigation and a day in court to clear his name!

Good grief we still have a congressman who was caught with bribe money in his freezer and another senator who illegally steered govt contracts to her husband.

And a Senator who drowned a girl in his Oldsmobile, and a Senator who ran a cathouse for gay men out of his Congressional home, and, and, and....

Why, considering that den of thieves up there, Larry Craig was only soliciting a willing partner at worst.

Now, keep in mind, I despise homosexuality and what it has done to our society since it came out of the closet, but at some point, if there is going to be an accounting and resignations, get 'em all, rather than run off one of the lesser ones and let the others go.

Has Hillary returned any of the stuff they boosted from the WHite House yet?

Enough of this "higher standard" crap. Strip the paint off the walls and run all the crooks and perverts out of Congress, not just the Republicans.

I'm at loss for words. Craig was going to step down. The Governor named his replacement. Craig ( avoiding any legal help ) chose to plead "Guilty". Arlen simply could not leave well enough alone. Nope, he had to do this.

Republicans like to compare this Craig episode with Gerry Studds or Barney Frank, but liberals think the issue is with hypocrisy. Studds and Frank never claimed to represent family values.

However, if you want to talk hypocrisy, maybe we should bring up Al “global warming” Gore’s jet setting ways and his heated pool and Edwards “two Americas” house and lifestyle, and any number of Democrats who are pro teacher’s union yet send their kids to private school.

Hillary must be ecstatic.

Craig shoved the breaking Hsu/Paws contributions scandal off the front page.

Now with Craig "reconsidering" and still in the headlines her possible appearance in Federal Court may similarly be relegated to behind the obituary pages.

Craig's instability could possibly take the edge off Fred Thompson's presidential announcement also.

(The MSM will see to it that all the above will take place as much as they can get away with).

I think a bitter Craig will NOT resign in order to get back at the Republican Party biggies who made it clear they wanted him to go right off the bat.

This guy may be sicker than we think.

I smell a dumboRAT here. Is the only proof Craig has changed his mind about quitting, a voice message left on an answering machine accessed by an improperly dialed number? If so then this is a lame attempt to drag the story out so the slime on the left can extract a bit more nutrition from their bottom feeding activities.

I had forgotten about John Edwards, the guy who wants us to give up our SUVs, while he lives in a 28,000 square foot house with a fleet of SUVs parked out in front.

And Al “the world is ending” Gore with his home that uses ten times the energy of the average American’s home.

It must be fun being on the left and never having to be held accountable.

That might be an accurate depiction of some event, but certainly not this particular situation.

Craig is the one making sure this story is dragged out. His resignation would have ensured that the story had few legs left. Now with his ‘oh, just kidding about that whole resignation thing’, it is brought back to the front page.

Here are some Google search results.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ted+kennedy+and+the+waitress+sandwich&btnG=Google+Search

http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/politics/national/features/2165/
Those to the manner born who’ve been in trouble — Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd, for instance, who participated in the famous “waitress sandwich” at La Brasserie in 1985, while their dates were in the bathroom — have tended to get out of it by claiming that their boyish high jinks had simply gotten out of hand.

http://wizbangblog.com/content/2005/04/23/ted-kennedys-fe.php
Kennedy’s womanizing ways are a Washington legend. When a supermarket tabloid published pictures of Kennedy getting “amorous” with a woman on his sailboat, one of his colleagues (Senator Howell Heflin) remarked that it appeared that Kennedy “had done changed his position on offshore drilling.” In 1985, he and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd allegedly made a “waitress sandwich” at a DC restaurant while their dates were in the rest room.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52241
The voters have also not learned with respect to Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., or Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn. One proves his “Kennedyness” by pursuing drugs, women and booze at taxpayer expense. One lied about the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and one (think Ted), along with Dodd, were said to have placed a hostess between them making what was called a “waitress sandwich” (which said waitress allegedly wanted no part in) at the La Brasserie restaurant in Washington before it closed. What is not in question, however, is that they supposedly got skunk-faced there every night.

Not sure if it was a waitress or waiter, but by looking at Kennedy and Dodd, I can guarantee there was a sandwich involved. Neither of these a$$clowns has ever missed a meal.
