Just when Republicans thought things could not get much worse for their scandal-stained party, Idaho Sen. Larry Craig leaked word Tuesday night that he is reconsidering his abrupt plan to resign from the Senate in the wake of his arrest in a police sex sting operation.
Top Republican strategists were neither delighted nor amused by the senator's decision to rethink retirement after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct following his arrest in a Minnesota airport men's bathroom.

Larry Craig wants to drag the rest of the GOP down with him (forgive the unintended pun).
Legally he wasn’t subject to arrest however he did plead guilty.
Morally and ethically he should get the heck outta there. he’s a scum bag that needs to take the rest of the scum bags with him as he leaves.

Come on, even Spector can't be that stupid. The GOP, if nothing else, had been able to resolve this mess in short order. Craig would step down, his replacement was picked, time to move on.

Alren has to throw a monkey wrench in the gears and keep this story front page news. It's sickening to think Spector is still around to f*** things up in ways that even his worst critics had never dreamed possible while a good man like Santorum is gone.

Heard on the local Philly news this morning that it was none other than Arlen Specter who spoke to Craig urging him to reconsider his resignation....
This is the way Specter repays the GOP leadership for backing him in the primaries. No good deed goes unpunished.

Why, considering that den of thieves up there, Larry Craig was only soliciting a willing partner at worst.
Now, keep in mind, I despise homosexuality and what it has done to our society since it came out of the closet, but at some point, if there is going to be an accounting and resignations, get 'em all, rather than run off one of the lesser ones and let the others go.

Politically speaking, it's time to throw him under the bus.
Americans are finally starting to get the picture. The curtain has been ripped away.
However, if you want to talk hypocrisy, maybe we should bring up Al “global warming” Gore’s jet setting ways and his heated pool and Edwards “two Americas” house and lifestyle, and any number of Democrats who are pro teacher’s union yet send their kids to private school.
If he does that, Capitol Hill will be an awfully quiet place, with no one there but the security guards. However, the taxpayers' pockets will be a lot safer.

Now with Craig "reconsidering" and still in the headlines her possible appearance in Federal Court may similarly be relegated to behind the obituary pages.
Craig's instability could possibly take the edge off Fred Thompson's presidential announcement also.
(The MSM will see to it that all the above will take place as much as they can get away with).
I think a bitter Craig will NOT resign in order to get back at the Republican Party biggies who made it clear they wanted him to go right off the bat.

I had forgotten about John Edwards, the guy who wants us to give up our SUVs, while he lives in a 28,000 square foot house with a fleet of SUVs parked out in front.
And Al “the world is ending” Gore with his home that uses ten times the energy of the average American’s home.

That might be an accurate depiction of some event, but certainly not this particular situation.
Craig is the one making sure this story is dragged out. His resignation would have ensured that the story had few legs left. Now with his ‘oh, just kidding about that whole resignation thing’, it is brought back to the front page.
What is this about a “waitress sandwich”? Did Teddy and Chrissy engage in a menage a trois?
If so, are they sure it was a “waitress” and not a “waiter”?

Kennedy’s womanizing ways are a Washington legend. When a supermarket tabloid published pictures of Kennedy getting “amorous” with a woman on his sailboat, one of his colleagues (Senator Howell Heflin) remarked that it appeared that Kennedy “had done changed his position on offshore drilling.” In 1985, he and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd allegedly made a “waitress sandwich” at a DC restaurant while their dates were in the rest room.
Not sure if it was a waitress or waiter, but by looking at Kennedy and Dodd, I can guarantee there was a sandwich involved. Neither of these a$$clowns has ever missed a meal.
Yet another example of why America needs Congressional Term Limits. In almost every case, the most corrupt individuals in Congress are those who have been there the longest. These people are causing great harm to America.

Craig is a fool to drag this out since he has no chance of ever getting re elected. IMO he is trying to save face here and will in the end resign.
