REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu failed to appear Wednesday for a bail hearing and a judge issued a new warrant for his arrest. Hsu forfeits the $2 million bail he posted last week. Hsu had been a fugitive in California for 15 years during which time he became a top donor to Democratic candidates, including presidential contenders Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.
Hsu pleaded no contest in 1991 to a felony count of grand theft, admitting he'd defrauded investors of $1 million in a bogus investment scam. Prosecutors say he was facing up to three years in prison when he skipped town before being sentenced.
Federal Election Commission records show Hsu donated $260,000 to the Democratic Party and candidates since 2004.
(This version CORRECTS Corrects that Hsu forfeits bail, sted bail reduction request.)
The plot sickens
A moose once bit my sister A moose once bit my sister
I betcha Hillary’s got him where she kept the Rose Firm billing records for all those years.
Hmmmmm, do I bet on “fled to China” or suicide/plane crash...
Where is our news media on this? Including Fox? Where is Fox on the trial coming up in California concerning the Clinton’s fraud accusations? Here we have one of the most important trials of the century and every one is quiet. Especially since we have a Presidential election coming up and the Clinton’s are attempting to run for office again. This is crazy....everyone is quiet about it.
sorry about that chief...
We'll learn more about what happened to Tony Soprano than we will about what happened to Mr. Hsu.
Now that he's gone, the MSM will have less of a reason to look into the whole mess.
Another Clinton scandal down the memory hole.
intersting enough but this is featured as breaking news on foxnews.com but nowhwere to be found on either CNN or MSNBC websites.
I’ll be the first.
Just how many breathless news alerts would the MSM be running if it was a Republican donor to any one of the Republican Presidential candidates?
Did you really expect any enemedia to question Hillary about funny money or a felon donor?
I didn’t. It’s up to us to make a fuss about it, to be sure people know. Evidently Fox News had this headline this morning. I hope Rush talks about it, as well. I’m wondering if he got the news yet.
He was recalled to China. Unhealthy levels of lead.
He’s dead, Jim.
He’s resting comfortably, somewhere.
“Another Clinton scandal down the memory hole.” Only if the people let it go down that hole. Pressure needs to be put on this as was done with the immigration bill.
This sure reminds you of Sandy Berger and how he got off. Are Republicans gutless or complicet? And yes, where is FOX News?
Did anyone at all think he wouldn’t run?
LOLOLOL ~~~~~~~~~~~ bets on him already in China?
Unreal ... $2M bail money gone .. the Feds *never* took his passport!!!
John Fund reported 120 folks implicated in the Clinton campaign finance scandals had skipped town ..
****************** make that 121 **********************
What idiot judge even considered bail? This crap has to stop.
Last seen hopping a flight with that Steve Fossett guy.
>>>He was recalled to China. Unhealthy levels of lead.
I thought about laughing at that. But I’m too disgusted.
I never understood why they gave him bail with his history.
I smell a story here along the lines of the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal. If there was only a real reporter out there that would just pull the string and start to unravel it.
LOL
WHY was a fugitive felon even allowed bail???
He already had fled the country for Hong Kong in his previous encounters with US law.
I’d say the chances he is still in the country would be less than 1%??

>>>Id say the chances he is still in the country would be less than 1%??
But, but, isn’t the Patriot Act suppose to prevent that????
lol,, now THAT’S a cowbell,, TY

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) - Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu (SHOO) is due to appear before a judge in Redwood City this morning (9:00) as he tries to get his bail reduced.
Hsu was taken into custody Friday when he turned himself in after being a fugitive for more than 15 years.
His bail was set at $2 million, which he was able to post in about five hours.
Today the judge will consider Hsu's request to reduce the bail amount by half.
They’re more interested in the mine owner missing his hearing. That’s what lead the top of the hour news blurb on my local talk station. No mention of Hsu.

Has Ft. Marcy Park been searched yet?
The media with say “Who is Hsu?” and go on taking about Craig. Although this type of story is pretty hard to ignore. Too bad this is coming out before Hillary gets the nod from the Dems.

Hmmm. I got this link to Breitbart from Drudge. Wonder if he showed?
Wonder where that 2 mil came from ?
When can we say that Republicans throw theirs in jail while Democrats let them flee the country?
When can we turn the "culture of corruption" back onto the Democrats?

I think this is great news. It will keep the story going.
This guy is probably sleeping with the fishes by now,,,When it comes to Clinton scandals there are never any answers to be found, just a lot of loose strings,,,,just ask Vince Foster..........
The judge needs to be thrown out of office.
Even a child could figure it out, Check Ft. Marcy park, I’m sure he’s there with a gun in his right hand if he’s left-handed or visa versa !
Maybe this clown's offshore accounts should be checked for recent deposits ?
We are not quiet on it.
