Immigrant workers left their jobs Wednesday and lined Valley streets holding signs with slogans such as I am your cook, and Sorry your house isnt clean.
VIDEO: Immigrants protest employer sanctions law
Motorists passing by yelled racial slurs and other phrases such as Go back to Mexico! But the protesters stood their ground.
The people out here represent the thousands of families who live in the shadows of fear, said Joel Aguilar, one of about 30 protesters who showed up near Main Street and Alma School Road in Mesa.
The Mesa demonstration was one of many organized by Immigrantes Sin Fronteras, or Immigrants Without Borders, against a new Arizona law that threatens employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants with permanent loss of their business licenses.
Protesters have lined Valley streets daily during a nine-day campaign that will end Saturday.

Where is ICE ???
Guess they ‘forgot’ one word in the headline: “ILLEGAL”
Doubt any immigrants left their jobs today.
Probably a lot of illegal aliens did, though.
The pc police have eviscerated what used to be a nice word.
Kind of hard to be hiding in the shadows if you're out in the middle of the street waving banners. Thanks, but no thanks. I can clean my own house and cook dinner for my family so I don't need any of them.
Was Jorge Bush there holding a sign?
Oh, I've finally figured it out. It's ICE that's hiding in the shadows afraid to do their job.
oh please I will clean my own house and cook my own food if you break the law you should get introuble.
I was wondering myself, thanks. One does get a bit sick of their melodramatic spew sometimes.
I spent over three hours today, scrubbing down my kitchen - cupboards, appliances and floors. Sure I could have called the local Merry Maids - but I don’t want strangers coming into my home, who will know the location of every window, door and nook and craney. Ever again.
Especially when they don’t speak English.
The BS these criminals spew is too much ...
I got this link in an email this week.
How about something like "Criminals protest law enforcement." Seems to fit this situation better.
I heard today that Congress (no clue if the House or Senate) is going to start debating the STRIVE Act tomorrow. Anyone else know anything about this. I have looked everywhere and can’t find anything on it.
I know what the STRIVE Act just can’t find anything on the debate on it.
I cook my own meals, I clean my own home. Get out.
I’d sure as heck like to know where ICE is too?
I love you Doctor Raoul.
PC ALERT: Callsic Horror Film “Alien” revises name to “Undocumented Monster”.
They have been iced by the management.
My mom, 100% Texan, was born to legal Mexican immigrants. Speaking spanish in public or in their home was not allow. Her parents, my grandparents, were proud Americans.
I heard that today too!! And haven’t received any alerts about it or any further news. Ridiculous double-speak acronym as they try to sneak in all their amnesty bill provisions!
I’ll let you know if I hear anything more :(

Bumper Stickers saying "REAL AMERICAN MEN ========="."
Fill in the blank:
DO THEIR OWN COOKING
MOW THEIR OWN LAWNS
FIX THEIR OWN CARS
DO THEIR OWN YARDWORK
DO THEIR OWN PAINTING
DO THEIR OWN LANDSCAPING
DO THEIR OWN STUCCOING
DO THEIR OWN PLUMBING REPAIR
DO THEIR OWN TREE TRIMMING
DO THEIR OWN LEAF BLOWING
10 to 1 American WOMENFOLK will like these kinds of stickers, too, and this new American Man's Attitude to take back our country by doing things we used to do ourselves rather than outsource it to invaders.
The presumptious nerve of "I AM YOUR COOK", standing on a traffic median.
A comparable sticker such as "ILLEGALS OUT!" on the car would also get the point across.
and this one for the senate
One of 30 protesters? I would venture to guess that this is a smaller count than the illegal family that Sr. Aguilar has in the Valley of the Sun. Not much of a protest showing.
IMHO what needs to be focused on are the self-appointed “journalists” who cooked up this story. Do you really believe the oh so perfect quotes are really from illegals? That might be, but I’d bet $100.00 that most everything in that article was custom crafted by the, ahem, “journalists”. I have come to believe that about 60-80% of the content in these stories is fake (but accurately Ratherized) and is written by Libs who create stories and narratives that they think SHOULD be true, and since they’re doing the lords work, whats the harm?
The purpose of such articles - At least one important purpose - Is to get the reader to focus their anger on the illegals and forget the central role of the activist journalist who insert themselves into the middle of this/
IMO The illegals are the criminals, but the Leftists “journalists” are the enemy.
“Where is ICE ???”
Exactly. Where’s ICE?
>>I heard today that Congress (no clue if the House or Senate) is going to start debating the STRIVE Act tomorrow.<<
We need to familiarize ourselves with this bill (H.R.1645)
And, this - from our very own forum:
Oi, Tough Salsa! Tango Sierra and so on. You don’t like it? Put the sun on your right shoulder and start swimming/walking.
Why are these criminals allowed to go out and get “in the face” of Americans? This is our country, NOT THEIRS! I thought Red Ted “The Commie” Kennedy said these idiots were “hiding in the shadows.”
>but I dont want strangers coming into my home, who will know the location of every window, door and nook and craney. Ever again.
Especially when they dont speak English.<
In the Readers Digest, I read about cheap home security.....hire a cheap painter, you know the kind who do sloppy work, like painting your windows shut.
I do all of those things except stuccoing (don’t have any) and leaf blowing (I prefer a rake).
Perhaps I should hold a sign on my street corner saying ‘I am your taxpayer.’
Jorge was at home trying to figure out how to postpone building the fence for another year.
“The people out here represent the thousands of families who live in the shadows of fear,”
And why do they live in fear of the law? Ah yes because they break the law. Personally I want dealers to fear the cops. I want stereo thiefs to fear the cops. And I want those who violate our national sovereignty to fear the cops.
LOL! Here is the article you were refering to:
According to the participants of the Republican Debate tonight, all 3 ICE officers are to busy to do their duty.
“The people out here represent the thousands of families who live in the shadows of fear, “
Most criminals live in the shadows of fear............
Do those who are in the US but not under legal status, have any "rights" to engage in political activity, (such as demonstrations, rallies, boycotts, addressing city councils or other community action), to influence the American federal and state/local legal system??
They should always live in fear. I'm always happy to hear that illegal aliens live in fear and tell their friends in Mexico it's too much hassle and stress to come here. Next to deportation the next best thing is that illegals are living in fear, that they don't have a carefree and happy existence here
They have no respect for our laws so I have no respect for them
This is my first post. Long time lurker - I love FR!
Hearing tomorrow at 1:00 - September 6, 2007
Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law Subc. Hrng. on H.R. 1645 - Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act. Members of Congress and public witnesses. 2141 RHOB.
Wow, welcome and I’m so honored!! That is awesome and thanks for the info about the STRIVE Act hearing.
FRiends - we have a new FRiend :0)
BS. They're NOT "living in the shadows", they're right in our faces, every day. They've been listening to the "decider" too much. DRAMA QUEENS!
Welcome to the fight!
Thanks so much! Thought I was crazy and hearing things when I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I was emailed this article last night, and found it to be unbelievable! I tried to post it, but AZ Republic is blocked. If anyone knows how to do it, (without getting the forum in trouble), I would be greatful!
