Immigrant workers left their jobs Wednesday and lined Valley streets holding signs with slogans such as I am your cook, and Sorry your house isnt clean.
VIDEO: Immigrants protest employer sanctions law
Motorists passing by yelled racial slurs and other phrases such as Go back to Mexico! But the protesters stood their ground.
The people out here represent the thousands of families who live in the shadows of fear, said Joel Aguilar, one of about 30 protesters who showed up near Main Street and Alma School Road in Mesa.
The Mesa demonstration was one of many organized by Immigrantes Sin Fronteras, or Immigrants Without Borders, against a new Arizona law that threatens employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants with permanent loss of their business licenses.
Protesters have lined Valley streets daily during a nine-day campaign that will end Saturday.

Most criminals live in the shadows of fear............
Do those who are in the US but not under legal status, have any "rights" to engage in political activity, (such as demonstrations, rallies, boycotts, addressing city councils or other community action), to influence the American federal and state/local legal system??
They should always live in fear. I'm always happy to hear that illegal aliens live in fear and tell their friends in Mexico it's too much hassle and stress to come here. Next to deportation the next best thing is that illegals are living in fear, that they don't have a carefree and happy existence here
They have no respect for our laws so I have no respect for them
This is my first post. Long time lurker - I love FR!

Wow, welcome and I’m so honored!! That is awesome and thanks for the info about the STRIVE Act hearing.
FRiends - we have a new FRiend :0)
BS. They're NOT "living in the shadows", they're right in our faces, every day. They've been listening to the "decider" too much. DRAMA QUEENS!
Welcome to the fight!
Thanks so much! Thought I was crazy and hearing things when I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I was emailed this article last night, and found it to be unbelievable! I tried to post it, but AZ Republic is blocked. If anyone knows how to do it, (without getting the forum in trouble), I would be greatful!
"With Last Breath, She Prayed for Her Killers"
Still just one post?! We won't biteya....honest. : ) Welcome to FR.
Lol!
Thank you very much for the welcomes. Now, I am up to four posts. ;)
Just a FYI. I sent an email to NumbersUSA regarding the STRIVE Act. Below is the email reply I received from the NumbersUSA Help Desk on Friday, Sept 7th, 2007. I encourage all who are concerned about illegal immigration as well as reducing the numbers of legal immigration to sign up at the NumbersUSA website. It’s free and an excellent resource. Senator Harry Reid and his evil cohorts will attempt to attach an AgJOBS amnesty to the farm bill (H.R. 2419) due to be voted on in the US Senate sometime in September 2007. Please check out their site! www.numbersusa.com :)
There was a hearing to placate the open border groups that are hounding the Democratic leadership on the bill this week - but it was not a bill markup and we have no expectation or evidence that the STRIVE Act is going anywhere.
Members of both parties know that if they want to increase the number of H-1Bs, at this point, they will have to slip into into another existing bill. If/when that happens, you can be sure that we will use every available resource to combat that threat.
As always, we will keep you informed. —

lolol! Oh good...were they today? (Last I had checked on if you were “still breathing”...it was still one, hehehe.)
Yes, today. I posted this evening. :)
Well, welcome back. Hope you have a great week.
I’ll be pulling a disappearing act here soon myself...about that time to hit the hay.
Thank you for following this through. That’s a good link, and I think I will sign up, too!
And - if ya keep going, you’ll be hitting TEN posts by tomorrow night! ;-)
Nighty night, FRiends!!!
