I couldn’t possibly care less who you support for President, so being charming is of no interest to me either.

I do, however, find value in publicly correcting mental midgets who babble regurgitated neo-con nonsense and who mistake fascism for patriotism.

Having said that, I'm more afraid of creeping socialism and government control than of any ten terrorist cells.

And THAT is EXACTLY why Ron Paul is garnering so much support. Of course, what used to pass for the Republican Party has turned into cheerleaders for wars abroad and socialism at home. Sad how far the party faithful have fallen just during the last couple of decades. Too much Fox News watching, I guess. People, sadly, tend to share the opinion of the last (supposed) reporter they listened to. Just 5 or 6 years ago Dr. Paul was something of a hero here on FR but now that he's somewhat more in the limelight and is saying things that reflect badly on the 'party', they want to vilify him. Thankfully, some folks aren't that fickle.

I think Ron Paul's problem is that a Constitutional declaration of war should never be ambiguous. If Congress had said "We declare war on Iraq and will fight until x, y, z happen", there would be no debate on what the authorization meant or when we could or could not bring our troops home.

BINGO!!! Give that man a cigar!! Ron Paul has stated numerous times in his writings that the lack of a clear STATED objective is the BIG problem with what is happening in Iraq which is the same thing that happened in Vietnam and Korea - police type actions with no clear objective.

When was the last war that we actually won? Anyone?? Try WWII. It's the last time the U.S. Congress actually declared war, supported it, won it and accepted the other side's surrender instead of some asinine cease-fire. Ron Paul's stance on war is simply that you do it in the right way for the right reasons and ultimate objectives or you don't do it at all. I can find no fault with that and more and more people are beginning to realize that he's right.

Wow, I love how people assume they know everything about you. I have voted Republican before. Although, I don’t really see why exactly that matters.
