Were the United States a serious nation, Calderon's claim that Mexico extends into the United States would have produced an instant demand from the U.S. ambassador for clarification. Sad ain't it.

The current population of Mexico is about 100 million. It would be easy to see between five and ten million births per year. That means that the population could be replenished, plus send five million more illegals across our borders every year without it’s own population going down.
Five million, twenty years... 100 million people. And Mexico could keep it up for decades.

How about as an ‘exchage’ of sorts we send unemployed groups of people from the US to live in Acapulco, Cancun, and Mazatlan etc. They can just live on the beach and do odd jobs at local hotels and restaurants. Of course, they should then send their money back to the US. And, we will offer them dual citizenship if they decide to apply for Mexican citizenship. We can also periodically send US officials down there to speak to them about how they are extending the borders of the US.

Bush applauds the Mexicans who stayed in the United States after the Texas territory was acquired from Mexico: "Many of them were treated as foreigners in their own land. Yet they didn't choose to run. They stayed. This was their home. They worked, raised families, and built communities. Their sweat, tenacity, and heart helped build this country."

"Mexico does not end at its borders. ... Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico." Yea, if mexico does not get severely punk-slapped (mass immediate deportation upon detection) and a coast to coast wall-fencing system shoved in their face there will be a full blown shooting war and it will be right here in the good old USA.
Yea, they will of course snivel, whine and screech racism.

Mexico's total fertility rate, 2.39, is well above replacement level. It's annual population growth rate [including those who leave] is 1.153% [compared to our .89%], which means that with a current total population of 108,700,000, Mexico's population is increasing about 1.3 million a year.
So even with a net migration rate of minus 4.08 migrant(s)/1,000 population (2007 est.), Mexico is still increasing its population. So they should have no problem supplying us with plenty of illegals. The median age of Mexico is 25.6 compared to our 36.6.

One has only to look at Mexico to realize just what percentage of our nation was built by the Mexicans who stayed here.
I appreciate everyone who contributed, but we should keep a realistic perspective.

Yes, we’re in general agreement with your premise. I have suggested a higher birth rate, but then what you documented could be increased with incentives from the government. Frankly, that’s what we should be doing also.
