UNION CITY, Ga. - A McDonalds employee spent a night in jail and is facing criminal charges because a police officers burger was too salty, so salty that he says it made him sick.
Kendra Bull was arrested Friday, charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and freed on $1,000 bail.
Bull, 20, said she accidentally spilled salt on hamburger meat and told her supervisor and a co-worker, who tried to thump the salt off.
~~~
If it was too salty, why did (Adams) not take one bite and throw it away? said Bull, who has worked at the restaurant for five months. She said she didnt know a police officer got one of the salty burgers because she couldnt see the drive-through window from her work area.
Police sent samples of the burger to the state crime lab for tests.
That’s what it sounded like at first. Also, if she told her supervisor first (it appears) then the supervisor made the judgment call.
Wonder if the cop complained and the McDonalds drone mouthed off, saying, “Whatcha gonna do, put me in jail?”
Yes, but doing something like that to an angry cop is pretty stupid. It’s like trying to rob a man with a gun, then taunting him with, “Whatcha gonna go, shoot me?”
That’s an abuse of power and the cop should be disciplined. If he didn’t like the burger he should have complained to the manager and asked for another. This is ridiculous and if this action is an indication of his judgement he should be removed from the force.
Cops are paranoid about people messing with their food, and it sounds like this one went off the deep end. Some people are defending the cop(as always), but I hope he gets disciplined for over-reacting.
To: Spktyr
Not that I’m defending the cop, but have you eaten some McDonalds burgers lately? They can be very salty normally.
After you get to a certain point of saltiness, you can’t taste whether it has x amount of salt of x times y amount of salt.
There almost has to be at least one freeper who was expecting the employee to be a Mexican illegal alien after reading the first sentence.
Yes, that is funny, but what is not funny is that many small towns are full of jackbooted thugs as cops.
I wouldn’t have thought that unless it included such. I thought of the Maximum Exposure episode where the cop maced the girl at a fastfood joint after falsely accusing her of shortchanging him $10.
She got $60,000 and he, amazingly, remained on the force.
I think she was assembled from random parts and brought to life by a lightning bolt routed through Tesla coils. She may have tossed a girl down a well, also.
She certainly was the most evil AG we’ve ever had. Koresh was pretty fruity, but I remember some news guy named Rooney at ABC(?) smirking into the camera after the final assault. I always wondered if he was related to Andy Rooney.
Don’t know about that. The local McDs (the few times I’ve been there) appears to pour several ounces of salt into the burger mix before serving. I’m not sure that I could tell if someone had added too much salt.
