You may never forget, and most Freepers won’t, but the majority of America already has.
Even today our politicians pay very little attention to what happened on 9/11/01 as demonstrated by our open borders, continued Muslim immigration, the half-hearted pursuit of the WOT and the granting of privileges to Islam that other religions are denied.

I remember it vividly. I got up early that morning to chat with a friend in England. it was 5:47 more or less PDT and I had a radio tuned to the news.
The first report popped up on Free Republic before the radio news mentioned something in New York a minute or so later.
I turned on Fox Cable News and then CNN as well, as I watched, numb, for the next 2+ hours.
I got to watch the doofus say: "Another plane just accidentally hit the second tower! What are the odds of that?"
I was 90 minutes late for work that day, after sliding a new 6-hour tape into the VCR, and most workers that morning were crowded around a TV in a conference room, watching snowy images (no regular cable connection there) until well past noon PDT. Needless to say, that night was spend glued to the set.
I remember thinking then that we, the American people, were being denied the raw TV feed, while the rest of the world was not.
I still boil inside when I realize that nanny government denied me the full horror and reality of what happened that day.
Would it make me any angrier and resolved today? I doubt that's possible.
Once the anger and disgust vessel is full, all else is wasted.
But it is enough.
Islam can dissimulate, lie, continue their barbarism the rest of my life; No retribution will ever be enough. I hope to see some real and merciless response eventually that they will remember forever.
They seem determined along the same lines.
NEVER FORGET!

Not a single network thought to do the obvious: to rebroadcast the events of that day, commercial free, in perfect synchronicity with that fateful day, to remind us as vividly as possible of the total horror of that day. The fire; the dust, the screams, the blood, the tears.
Why should they bother?
Why should I care?
Because the enemy is still there. Still among us also, arrogant, delusional and hateful as ever.
They see themselves as patient.
As I see myself, and most Americans.

It seems way too many have already forgotten. That makes me sad. It’s comforting here knowing many haven’t forgotten. I learned how to send these pics and vids and songs in email tonight.
I will never forget and my kids will never forget about
9-11-01. Just like I will never forget Pearl Harbor because my parents made sure of it (well, the Great Depression, WWII, and everything afterwards).
A family friend had a huge party for their kid at the end of July, a month after his high school graduation. He joined the Marines and left 2 days later. There is nothing more honorable than an 18 yr old kid joining the military, especially during these times. I thank God every day for our Military.

Thank you for posting this, Dolly!
It's so difficult to put words to my feelings of that day; horror, anger, sadness, the realization that America and the world would no longer be the same, and wanting those who caused this to be brought to justice. Today, 6 years later, it seems many have forgotten that day, and want to live like it's 9/10/01 and the world is going merrily along.

As in Utah:
"Several Utah schools have decided to let Sept. 11, 2007 pass without observing the sixth anniversary of the unprecedented terror attacks against the United States -- over fear of re-kindling the haunting memories for those who vaguely remember them, or introducing them to children who weren't born yet."
Makes my blood boil.

I'll never forget. I drove from Amherst, NH down to Taunton, MA for work. When I walked into the General Dynamics lobby, a crowd was watching the TV there. Someone said that a small plane had crashed into one of the trade towers in Manhattan. As I watched, I saw the second one hit and I realized it was a commercial airliner. A woman standing next to me said, "This is just like in the movies!" I said, "No it isn't!" She asked me why and I said, "This is real!".
Later some one who was watching it on his computer said, "The first tower just fell!"
Enough of this PC crap! Islam has declared war on us. All of Islam has declared war on us. Anyone who remains Moslem is my enemy...is our enemy. Islam is not compatible with the rest of the world. Until we finally understand this, 9/11 will just continue to happen, again and again.

Islam declared war on civilization 1400 years ago. It has been attacking Europe for centuries and there was simply a lull for a couple of hundred years after the last military assaults were driven back. And now it finally feels strong enough to turn its attention towards us.
But we’re still not serious about fighting back.

Thanks Doli. A wonderful tribute. And yes we haven't forgotten. I posted this on another thread. I'll just repeat it here.
A message to Osama Ben Hidin if you are still alive. You are a gutless impotent little coward. If the best attack you can pull off is some old video clip you really are irrelevant. Come out of your cave and die like a man (if you haven't assumed room temperature years ago).
Tanks to all who have kept us safe for 6 years since that day. Pres. Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Pat Tillman, those on Flight 93 that fought back, all those who are serving their country in this War on Terror. I salute you.
My first emotion on Sept. 11th was anger and I think that's still true.

Thanks for this thread. I can’t believe it has been 6 years. Six years of relative safety and still President Bush gets bashed. How that must encourage our enemy! I pray today for all the victims and their families. I remember that morning vividly. The phone rang, it was my brother in law telling us about the plane hitting the first tower so we rushed to turn the tv on and saw the second plane hit. I don’t think the tv got turned off for a couple of days. God Bless America!
To: DollyCali
Six years ago, we knew. Go read Instapundit’s archives of that day. We knew it was Bagdad. George Bush didn’t trump that up. We knew.
Thankfully, we no longer need the MSM’s filters of “perspective” or trumped up, biased “looks back at 911” specials. The Internet has a looonnnggg memory, that’s searchable. There’s hope.

Big & Rich - Our America (Click to listen) (w/ Gretchen Wilson & Cowboy Troy)
Wilson: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union
Cowboy Troy: I have a dream, a dream that one day
Rich: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal And they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights
Big Kenny: That among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness
B&R/GW: Oh say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
Cowboy Troy: I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America
B&R/GW: Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
Cowboy Troy: And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God
B&R/GW: And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
Cowboy Troy: Indivisible
B&R/GW: O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
Cowboy Troy: With liberty and justice for all
B&R/GW: O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? |

Alan Jackson - Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning (Click to listen) Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day Out in the yard with your wife and children Working on some stage in LA Did you stand there in shock at the site of That black smoke rising against that blue sky Did you shout out in anger In fear for your neighbor Or did you just sit down and cry
Did you weep for the children Who lost their dear loved ones And pray for the ones who don't know Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble And sob for the ones left below
Did you burst out in pride For the red white and blue The heroes who died just doing what they do Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer And look at yourself to what really matters
I'm just a singer of simple songs I'm not a real political man I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you The difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us And the greatest is love
Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day Teaching a class full of innocent children Driving down some cold interstate Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor In a crowded room did you feel alone Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her Did you dust off that bible at home Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened Close your eyes and not go to sleep Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages Speak with some stranger on the street Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow Go out and buy you a gun Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger Stand in line and give your own blood Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family Thank God you had somebody to love
I'm just a singer of simple songs I'm not a real political man I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you The difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us And the greatest is love
