The gethuman project is a consumer movement to improve the quality of phone support in the US. This free website is run by volunteers and is powered by over one million consumers who demand high quality phone support from the companies that they use.
I’m sitting in North Dakota in a building where there are ~400 college graduates politely answering the phone in excellent English.
(If you research, you will find)
I just keep pressing zero when I get one of those automated things, no matter what the instructions. Most of the time I get a real person before too long.

I was pricing a PC configuration on Dell’s site today and laughed out loud when I saw an option to purchase “US Based Technical Support” at a premium! BTW...they will also sell you carbon offsets along with your PC order!
“Uff da” is more prevalent.
When it says “if you know your party’s extension”, I just press any 4 buttons and will usually get a person, then I have them transfer me to who I need to talk to.
Good place to bump this thread.
