(CBS 11 News) NAVARRO COUNTY The Navarro County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kevin Anders for possession of child pornography.

Anders is the live-in boyfriend of Dana Mack.

Dana's youngest daughter, Hannah, was found dead in the family's garage Monday. Wednesday, police confirmed the girl was sexually assaulted before she was hanged.

Police originally listed Anders as a person of interest in the death of the 6-year-old girl.

Anders had been questioned by police early Wednesday, but was not arrested until sometime around 9 p.m.

Anders is the live-in boyfriend of Dana Mack.

And not, despite the predictions of the damned border ghouls, an illegal or a Mexican. As usual.

"Live-in boyfriends" ... this is why adultery laws make sense.

I understand the angst they have over illegal immigration, but when they’re posting that the Mexicans did it at the end of a long thread, after it was revealed that the live-in boyfriend was arrested, it starts to look a bit ridiculous.

For some reason, when I read about this case on another freep thread last night, I figured it was something like this. I might get flamed, I don't know, but I wasn't surprised reading the term, "live-in boyfriend". He has no bond with this child, she's fair game.

The mom isn't good enough to marry, apparently, so why should he view the daughter any better? Or am I being too judgmental and narrow minded? I guess I listen to Dr. Laura too much.

They showed a clip of the mother on the news last night. Now, if my daughter had been discovered raped and hung in a barn, both my wife and I would be screaming, raving lunatics! But this woman talked about the horrible death of her daughter as though she had lost a bicycle. There was no anger, no heart-wrenching cry, no mourning. It was very strange. It doesn't surprise me that it was her boyfriend, after seeing that.

Sounds like the woman at the well in John 4.

At any rate, as has been noted many times, "live-in boyfriend" is the number one predictor of child abuse.

You know you won't get flamed ... based on the circumstances, it was a pretty good guess.

The mom isn't good enough to marry, apparently, so why should he view the daughter any better?

Let's be very clear: The guy was clearly a predator, and the (sexually desparate) mom was the gateway to the daughter.

I can't speak from any direct knowledge, but I believe it's a very common pattern.

From a related story at the CBS11 website:
Friends said that she feels she is a bad mother because she could not keep the danger away from her daughter, and that she is working through these feelings of guilt. "She just kept wondering how this could happen to her baby," said Jeremy Madison, one of Dana's coworkers. "There's just no comforting when you lose your baby like that."
Given the fact that it appears she brought the danger into the house, it is understandable how she would feel that way.

It really is time to place blame where it belongs.

“The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world”

In the last several decades, too many self-absorbed, sexually *liberated* women have been the sole, irresponsible caretakers for their *inconvenient* children, without regard to the importance of including *fathers* in their kids’ lives...as opposed to *men* in their beds.

As a result, these *at risk* children (in every socioeconomic level) have no security, no ethical or moral examples.. in the home, in school, or in the media.

Obviously, this has been a growing crisis for years - abused children becoming dead victims, or abusive adults.

Once society decided there should be no disgrace or shame to *illegitimate* children, shacking up, adultery, sexual deviancy, the innocents started to pay the price.

“without regard to the importance of including *fathers* in their kids’ lives.”

Actually, that has more to do with absent fathers than women preventing men from seeing their children.

But why blame a man when you can blame a woman, right?

“”But why blame a man when you can blame a woman, right?”

If her *boyfriend* killed her child - she is an irresponsible mother!!!!!

“””””that has more to do with absent fathers”””

I think my comment stated that absent biological fathers IS the problem...whatever the reason.

If I understand biology - the mother selects the father of her children...seems like she could select the best for those children.

That's a stupid statement.

The mother may have used poor judgment in her decisions, but to blame her in any way for the atrocities committed by her boyfriend is beyond the pale.

Do you think the boyfriend had "child rapist" tattooed on his forehead and she dated him anyway? Puh-lease.

I am so sick of self-righteous keyboard commandoes blaming the mothers / parents every time a child dies. Blame the monster who did it on whose hands the blood should remain.

Sodpoodle,

You said

“In the last several decades, too many self-absorbed, sexually *liberated* women have been the sole, irresponsible caretakers for their *inconvenient* children, without regard to the importance of including *fathers* in their kids’ lives...as opposed to *men* in their beds.”

There really doesn’t seem to be wiggle room in that statement... I’m not sure how anyone is supposed to simply read “absent biological fathers” in that...

And fathers select the mothers of their children, as well.

Anyway, this woman picked a bad boyfriend... maybe she truly did not see the bad signs. Likely she did... and is damaged enough to overlook them, with tragic consequences.

This is from the Department of Health and Human Services:
Reguarding the relationship of child abusers and their victims.

Figure 3-6 Victims by Perpetrator Relationship, 2004
Child Maltreatment 2004

Victims by Perpetrator Relationship, 2004

This bar graphs shows that approximately two-fifths (38.8%) of child victims were maltreated by their mothers acting alone; another 18.3 percent were maltreated by their fathers acting alone; 18.3 percent were abused by both their mother and father. Victims abused by a nonparental perpetrator accounted for 10.1 percent of the total

No, that is wrong. Poor judgement does not equal irresponsiblity.

And here is what a thesaurus ~actually~ says.

Roget's New Millennium™ Thesaurus
Main Entry: irresponsible
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: careless
Synonyms: capricious, carefree, devil-may-care*, feckless, fickle, flighty, fly-by-night*, giddy, harebrained, ill-considered, immature, immoral, incautious, lax, loose*, no account, rash, reckless, scatterbrained*, shiftless, thoughtless, unaccountable, unanswerable, uncareful, undependable, unpredictable, unreliable, unstable, untrustworthy, wild
Antonyms: responsible
Source: Roget's New Millennium™ Thesaurus, First Edition (v 1.3.1)

* = informal or slang

Now, please realize that you are probably insulting a whole lot of male FReepers with that statement since many of them are involved with women who may have a child from a previous relationship.

Not *all* boyfriends are pure evil. Some are.

And experience has shown me that people are truly capable of appearing completely normal, balanced and sane when they are monsters underneath.

The mother probably had no idea that this man was anything but a loving boyfriend and now has to live with the guilt forever.

And there's always "helpful" folks like you to pile on blame on the grieving. I truly hope you never exercise poor judgment in your lifetime and end up suffering as this woman is, because folks like you will be right there beating you up as you are doing right now to this lady.

Last time I checked my Thesaurus - POOR JUDGEMENT IS IRRESPONSIBLE

POOR JUDGEMENT was the synonym you used, dearie - not the antonym of "responsible".

A perfectly responsible person can have moments in life where they used poor judgement, especially when it comes to trusting someone and then it turns out they weren't who you thought they were.

But I guess you've never been there, right. You are walking perfection. All hail you!
