Suspect is a black male 30 years old....named Kevin Werner
4 officers were shot. I hope this is the man who killed the Officer in Pompano a few weeks ago. Apparently, the same kind of high powered weapon was used for both shootings.

Yeah, four officers shot. I had only heard TWO at first. Suspect is a black male whereas initial reports have him as white. No confirmation on the weapon, yet. Just one suspect right now. FOUR cops down? ONE suspect? Even on full auto if that was the case, it seems like the cops got caught unawares, in Condition White in a situation that ought to have had them on the verge of Condition RED. Not good.

Four police officers struck by gunfire. Looking for a Kevin Werner, black male, 30 years old. Vehicle and gun recovered. Suspect still on the loose, presumed to be armed with a second weapon.
Suspect was initially pulled over for erratic driving and opened fire on the officers when he was stopped.
Spokeslady asking public to stay of the freeway and local roads.

An aside, why the hell were the initial reports so far off?Folks might've freaked when they heard/saw the gunfire. Can't say as I'd blame them, but they might not make great witnesses. Then again, the press could've screwed up the intial reporting.
