FOX News Poll: Rudy Giuliani Preferred President Over Hillary Clinton If Terrorists Attack America
Fox News ^ | 9/13/07 | Dana Blanton

Posted on 09/13/2007 6:49:46 PM PDT by finnman69

A majority of Americans say they would feel more comfortable with Rudy Giuliani in the White House than Hillary Clinton if another terrorist attack were to happen in the United States, according to a new FOX News poll.

When compared to other top Republican candidates, more voters see Giuliani as hardworking and as a strong leader, while Clinton leads the Democratic field for not only having the right experience, but also being able to bring about change — as well as doing whatever it takes to win. Views are divided on whether it’s appropriate for Oprah Winfrey to use her celebrity status to encourage support of Barack Obama.

The latest FOX News poll shows that if the United States were hit with a terrorist attack, by a 50 percent to 36 percent margin, Americans would rather have Giuliani in charge than Clinton, including 28 percent of Democrats and an overwhelming 80 percent of Republicans. Independents split in Giuliani’s favor 47 percent to Clinton’s 28 percent.

Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from Sept. 11 to Sept. 12. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

It's early, but I was figurin' on a horse race. Though, I will concede I thought Rudy's comments on immigration had sunk him last week.

I guess I was wrong.

“FOX News Poll: Rudy Giuliani Preferred President Over Hillary Clinton If Terrorists Attack America”

Trudyt vs Hillary? The only difference is the penis. I’m not sure who has it, but that’s the difference.

I prefer anyone but Hillary, whether there’s a terrorist attack or not.

Rudy’s a lot less likely to cry if we get attacked again, whereas Hillary is liable to cry if somebody just gets to close to her podium during a debate.

Look at your margin for error! Factor that in and you have your horse race.

For reasons I’m guessing has to do with FNC’s polling partner, Opinion Dynamics, FNC polls always trend very liberal.
I’ve never found Fox polls to be very accurate, whether it’s one like this, a post-debate text message poll showing Ron Paul as the winner, or Ruben Studdard besting Clay Aiken.

I can see criticizing Rudy’s stance on the 2nd Amendment and abortion, but in all fairness, the guy gets it when it comes to national defense and fighting the jihadis. Rudy vs. hillary on national defense is not even close.

Rudy’s slams today on Hillary and the Slimes will help. He’s sucking up all of the air in the room and taking the fight to the left.

Rudy is the guy that refused money for NYC from an Arabian prince after comments he made regarding 9/11. Hillary’s the one who takes money from any foreigner for her campaign.

Hillary’s the one that kissed Arafat’s wife after she made a speech saying, “”Our [Palestinian] people have been submitted to the daily and intensive use of poisonous gas by the Israeli forces, which has led to an increase in cancer cases among women and children.” Rudy kicked Yassar Arafat out of an event in NYC saying, “New York City will not honor terrorists and dictators.”

...and you say they’re the same? What reality do you live in?

Giuliani as NYC mayor has had more exposure to foreign policy and had far more meetings with world leaders that George W Bush did when he ran for president. Giuliani will be a great world leader as president, but more importantly a great American leader.

You know Fox News as lost credibility when it is the only poll to show Giuliani with that kind of lead. Even CNN's poll at the race between Thompson and RINO Rudy even while Rasmussen had Thompson ahead by eight points.

I support Giuliani, but looking at simple, mechanical, effectiveness of the respective campaigns tells me Romney is the guy to watch. Obama's quite good campaign is the only thing keeping him in the race. I'm talking here about simple nuts & bolts campaign management and fund-raising, not about issues, character or the candidate's images. Fred Thompson does not seem to have a campaign team, let alone a campaign, and the front-loading of next year's primaries mean his late start is killing him.

Here's my handicapping (again, this is only nuts & bolts stuff, not issues, character or image):

Hillary Clinton - absolutely superb campaign, easily the best of any candidate. Only Romney's comes close. Here the campaign is far better than the candidate.

Mitt Romney - excellent campaign so far, but not yet tested in adversity like Clinton's.

Barrack Obama - good campaign, and it plus Hillary's titantic personal negatives are the only things keeping this not-ready-for-prime-time candidate in the race.

Giuliani & McCain tied for fourth, with adequate campaigns.

Fred Thompson - poor so far, and he is fast running out of time to get it together. He can't win without a ground game and there is simply no sign of one. His lack of major executive experience indicates that he can't turn things around fast enough.

On social issues there is not a gnats worth of difference betwixt the two. Social issues are my number one concern. Because of that, in a Trudy v Hillary race?

Even though Rudy is a New Yorker, he has a very nice, down home touch with people. He’s not an Ivy Leaguer, and he can play the ethnic card whenever he wants.

Rudy was raised in Brooklyn, wasn’t he? I’ll never understand how New Yorkers took in that Carpet Bagger when we all KNOW she doesn’t live in Chappaqua - that’s Bill’s residence. Her residence is in Washington - bought and paid for by American taxpayers. She’s so sure of herself and her “campaign” handlers, but Rudy took down the Mafia gang in the 80s, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised that he doesn’t have a heck of a file on her and will open up said file at the most appropriate time.
